Still in episode 3 but I wouldn’t say I’m attached to the story. It’s a good and lighthearted plot but their struggle is not relatable. IU’s character is overbearing and painting her as a “commoner” rubs me off in the wrong way.

Qianqian and Qimin’s story in itself deserves a separate drama.

It was definitely anticlimactic. It made me chuckle coz the main agenda was quelling the rebellion but the uncle-nephew feud took the spotlight. And Qimin’s death was kinda pathetic imo. That was his redemption arc for sure but I just wished he had more scenes of him usurping the throne. It just felt like he had this grand scheme and then it fell flat.

The late king was obviously the villain here but it would’ve been nice if they established this in earlier episodes rather than info-bombing us.

I’m watching this on Netflix so I’m still on episode 37. One thing I gotta say though is that all the Qi men are cuckoos. Idk why and how they became the rulers of the kingdom.

So is WY technically not the “bad” guy? He’s just trying to put things in balance? That’s interesting coz I never really understood his position in all this. His stance is very ambiguous.

Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m just trying to make sense of the imperial family tree and the entire fiasco they are in.

So Prince Chengde and Prince Chengxin, are they siblings? If so, then does that mean that the Sui bros are technically cousins with Qi Min? How about this current emperor? Whose bloodline is he from? I know that he’s also a Qi but I really don’t know.

Also, if Wei Qilin is Changyu’s dad, and Xie Zheng is a Wei from his mom’s side, does that make them related at all?

And last question, why the heck do those two chancellors have more power over the emperor? What were their roles during that Jizhou tragedy? Any spoilers from the book readers are entirely welcome.

Just finished ep4 and boyyy am I liking this season. It’s so much more entertaining. I gotta commend Mina Sue for this. 😂

But seriously, I just feel like the casting this season is great. They have so much personality. Funny thing to me is I just can’t seem to differentiate Jaejin, Hyunwoo, and Hyunjae. 😂

Adding to that, I love how there’s more variety in their professions this season. In the past it’s mostly just models.

Currently in episode 30 and omg I really cannot wrap my head around ZX’s logic? Why keep blaming XG over his cowardice? Dfq??? He kept missing his chance coz he didn’t act! Yet he blames XG over everything??? This guy is just making my blood boil.

He probably also got the hemorrhage lmao. That guy is insufferable 😂

Take out the PV talks and the 2ML’s moping scenes, then it would’ve been a stellar romance drama. The plot doesn’t have much depth so stretching it to 36 episodes was a bit too much. Still watching it though coz I wanna know how it ends but imo it’s not a bingeable kind of drama.

Currently at episode 12 and as much as I dislike Rong, his attitude towards her really pisses me off. Very self-centered.

This SML is so annoying. He was not clear to both girls at all! Yet he’s moping because the world is so unfair? Both girls were so vocal about their feelings but he was just silent all throughout. Didn’t even clear up anything. I’m sick of this guy 🫠
