If you speak French, please raise up your hand in the air. If not, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Inn spent months with what…
I'm French (and teached French in Korea), and for a character that is supposed to have been away for 20 years, he doesn't sound natural when speaking French (which should be the case for a kid growing and living in France during 20 years at that times). The work the actor put in mastering the language is noticeable, and contrary to other Korean or Japanese dramas I have seen where actors speak French, he is understandable when speaking, but it's still not very convincing considering the character background.

Edit : I probably haven't emphasised this enough, but the actor does a very good job at speaking French, I'm not criticising him. It's just that considering the character background, a more natural French would be expected when the character speak French. Compared to Park Min Young trying to speak French (whom I love nonetheless), my ears were not bleeding here. ^^

It's like I'm under a spell every time Choi Jae Hyeok is on screen. I hope this role will bring him many casting offers, I want to see him more in the future.

I haven't read the webtoon so I don't have the original work as reference, but still, that's exactly how I feel and think too. It's a shame because it's been a while since a Korean BL had so much potential to be excellent for me, but it's unfortunately lacking on the points you mentioned very well.

That's really funny how we can see things very differently depending on our own perspectives. ^^

Yes our perception is different depending on our age and experiences. Personally, having had a younger brother in high school and teaching in Korea, I just can't see these actors as high schoolers. And as I wrote, it's also because it's not like it is their first roles. If that was the case, it could maybe pass, but after playing different mature roles, I find it even more weird and totally unrealistic to see them portray high schoolers.

I know of course, but personally it's not my thing seeing adults play kids. People want to see high-profile actors okay, but in befitting roles too. I don't think they cast young actors to play elderly people... That's just too weird for me that both actors and the general public like to watch adults play kids when there are great kids actors that could do the job instead.

I'm looking forward to it but, to be honest, as much as I love Young Woo, neither him or Cho Yi Hyun pass as high schoolers to me. Especially after his last roles and in particular Lee Geum Son in "Mercy for None". ^^

I don't think I will be disappointed by the drama though, it should be fun, and their acting will sure be good, but for me their appearances don't match the characters.

I thought the same for the last drama of Seo Kang Jun. They should really stop using grown up adults to play high schoolers, in terms of realism it doesn't work at all.

I'm completely on board with you when it comes to Choi Jae Hyeok. But when they put that idiotic line -- "It's…
Yes, I agree. That's where I think it's really your usual Korean BL drama. These kind of lines are so stupid (but they are made for the targeted audience, not for us ^^). They are not necessary to the story and characters developments neither. And, actually, they are really not realistic, because even teenagers in Korea would not say something like this even in high school nowadays, so it's even more unrealistic for university students.

That is totally unexpected as I didn't had any expectations or real interest before starting this drama, but I'm getting more drown to it after each episode. And surprisingly, even though it's very a Korean drama, with some usual clichés you can find in its genre, some characters interactions, dialogues, feel very much natural and realistic to me, compared to your usual BL. The two friends (probably a "support couple" by the end) are quite nice characters too. Yeom Min Hyeok and Choi Jae Hyeok have a very good chemistry together, which I wouldn't have bet on at the start, and for me it's mostly because of the latter.

Choi Jae Hyeok. What a man, he is so charming. And his attractiveness seems without limits. I find myself drown to the screen and his handsome and charismatic face every time he is on screen, almost holding my breath, no matter what he said or did. Such a delightful surprise, both for him and this drama.

I'm watching it (as a person who actually doesn't believe in polyamory, but I'm glad your recommended it), and it's interesting, but I am waiting to see it untel the end before I make a judgement. I'll let you know when it is finished. But I do understand what you meant.

And Netflix is the last one you need to ask about the STORIES,
That's very subjective, and only based on recent years. The first Korean Netflix drama was in 2019. I have rated 10 many dramas produced before that date for example, and since 2019, only 3 dramas produced by Netflix, while I watch many dramas every year, so not a high ratio. And for me, the stories for Netflix productions are mostly bad indeed.
So yes, that's quite subjective I think.

Netflix are still miles ahead of Disney+, both in Korea and worldwide in terms of subscribers. But also in terms…
The comment wasn't about the "success" of the dramas, but the quality. Of course, in terms of viewers Netflix will win as long as they have more subscribers, it doesn't mean their dramas are of great quality (even though this is a very subjective matter). Having won awards (which are won because of the audience, not necessarily for the quality) or having a 9.0+ overall ratings here surely is not a sign of quality, only a sign of popularity, which is very different even though sometimes popularity equals quality too. Only time will be the judge of that, just like movies. The ones that are still watched 20, 30, 40 years or more later and become iconic are the true good ones.

Not really similar, but I would recommend the movie "The Battleship Island".

On Choo Young Woo Jun 8, 2025
I have nothing but praises for the way Young Woo played the nutjob Lee Geum Son in "Mercy for None". I have been a fan of him since his debut. Of course I fell for his handsomeness, but I liked his acting and potential too since the beginning. I enjoyed most of his roles so far, really loved some, but this time I was actually very impressed, even more than for his double characters performance in "The Tale of Lady Ok" that was already praised worthy (and for which he was duly recognised). I hope he will keep surprise and amaze us in the future.

Amazing cast, brilliant acting, interesting characters, good story developments or/and plot twists, and of course a lot of kicking, stabbing, destroying tables and windows and blood gushing everywhere. What is more to want/expect from a Korean action/crime drama ? Nothing in my opinion, so "Mercy for None" is very good for me.

All the cast is very good, Huh Joon Ho is truly one of the best Korean actors in my opinion, but it's true that I decided to watch it for Choo Young Woo, whom I am a fan since his debut, and, well, he truly played a nutjob, but did it very well, I'm impressed.

You took the words right out of my mouth. It's Jae-Hyeok's sheer magnetism and presence -- in front of which I'd…
I really paused the episodes when there was close-ups on his face, to watch it longer. True magnetism indeed ! And that glare while making out with the girlfriend ? Oh my my !

Based on his Instagram photos, he his from the Snow White (or porcelain) Korean bloodline (I lived in Korea and some men really have a very marmorean skin, but that can become so prettily olive tone with a little tan... I just love that !). But yes, they went overboard in some scenes with the foundation, the contrast is too much.

Really ?! Thank you, that news has brighten my day. ^^ I didn't checked properly but there are indeed some Japanese titles finally coming our way. So really, thanks for your comment. ;)

I can't stand Ok Taec Yeon in sageuks, so I doubt he will have a breakthrough in a BL. I would even be surprised to see him have a peck on the cheek with another man. So "Soul Mate" doesn't really look good for me, but, we never know.
If done well, "40 Made ni Shitai 10 no Koto" has all the potential to be a great one, I'm seated for the plot.
"Ameagari no Bokura ni Tsuite" sounds like it will be the same deception as "Futtara Doshaburi", and so many others, but I will still watch it because I'm a masochist.
I liked "I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama", so I'm looking forward for the season 2.
And "Hishakai Shindo", well, we will be able to play your JBL Bingo: School Edition for sure, but, yes, still watching nonetheless. ^^

I take the recommendation for "Sannin Fuufu" too, thank you. Even if it's not good I don't have better for the time being so I'll see.
