Yeah, BL is a genre written by women for women. It's feministic and doesn't cater to the male gaze. Look for another…
Thank you for giving me hope again about the comment sections. <3 There are still people who can accept that others can share a different opinion, even a negative one, without lecturing them for their tastes but respectfully exchange their views and takes on it.
I thought the same thing but I'm also giving it the benefit of the doubt. I think Japanese culture is very different…
You have a good point indeed on the cultural aspect of it. These two episodes were enough for me, I'm moving on. ^^ I hope you enjoy the next episodes.
"and pursuing her work as an actress." She is mainly an idol, not a single role in seven years (!), and this news as nothing with acting... You really have nothing more interesting to write ? Something related to real actors maybe ? Or movies ? Dramas, no ? I see plenty of such news you don't report on here thought.
Erm....you really think BLs are popular for their 'realism' ?
I agree, but fantasies don't necessarily excludes realism neither. I have watched and loved many BLs that are total fantasies but still feel realistic to me. But of course it depends on what realism is for someone, because the definition can vary from a person to another. I never wrote that others can't have or believe in such fantasies in my comment, all the contrary, just that for me this one don't work and is too far off reality.
I don't get why people can't accept that others can have and express a different opinion without immediately excluding it. It's just dramas and movies, not life and death matters, everybody has different tastes and can express it. Discussing it is one thing, but immediately dismissing others opinions isn't correct. So thank you for this respectful exchange.
its based on a cute manga. and honestly, if you are not into stuff like that, you dont have to watch it ;)
"which to me means you consider you have wasted time on them aka you feel bad about it" Your conclusion is wrong. It's not because I watched two episodes and didn't enjoyed it that I feel like I wasted my time or feel bad about it. It's just a BL after all.
Yes, I will not watch further, but I'm still allowed to express my mind about it here if I want. Why feel the need to say that to someone that just expressed his opinion ? To me it's that behaviour that is very triggering. How insecure someone can be that they feel the need to tell others not to watch something just because they expressed a negative opinion about it ? You see, me too I can do baseless two cents psychological analysis based on your comment. My point is just that watchers can express their minds however they want here normally. I never get people commenting such things. It's so patronising to say that to others.
If you like it, that's good, enjoy ! As I wrote before, your comment reminded me that there is no point trying to interact here most of the time, because unlike what people pretend to be (open-minded, welcoming, tolerant, etc.), they can't stand others having different opinions and can't just debate respectfully about it, they always have to be patronising and push others away. Well, one more time, lesson learned.

How stupid of me. I thought BL were story about men falling in love and having sexual desires for each others. I guess I was wrong all along, they must be about some kind of different species and thus not be a representation of homosexual or bisexual men at all. How foolish of me really.

Thank you, I guess I couldn't have figured that out by myself.
Your comment reminds me that there are always people who don't like others people expressing their minds about what they watch if it doesn't align with their own opinion. Such an open minded and caring environment...

One mere comment that gives an opinion different than yours prevents you to enjoy "your" genre ? Wouah, that's sad.
Enjoy, enjoy. I will still give my opinion whenever I want, because you can't deny my right to express my mind here if I want to, and especially when it comes to representations of gay men.
pls they are real people, not drawed characters.Obviously there its not possible to have the same looking body…
They don't look like alphas from the Omegaverse to me, that's my point. It's my opinion, so I don't get all your rambling around their look or acting honestly. Good for you if they pass as alphas to you, enjoy.
Its postponed bc they had issues with the thai dubbing editing guys its nothing serious https://www.instagram.com/p/DMDQqdPt4_a/?igsh=bmMyc21vcTZvb200
If that was really the case, why would they don't have simply explained it in their statement regarding the postponement ? I might be too pessimistic but I find this information quite unreliable.

Well, there are so many men or women exactly cast for movies and dramas just because of their looks, and so many people always complaining about it here on MDL, that it is really funny to read this.
That story is all over the place but well, with such attractive men as Kenji Fan and Martin Wong it doesn't really matter. ^^ Their profile pictures here don't do them justice, they are much more handsome in the drama, and their bodies are fire, juste like the chemistry between them.

A lot of real people could fit the role more. Just look up Jay Cai Zhenhao. He is a model that is the perfect image of an handsome, tall, muscular and very masculine alpha from the Omegaverse. An actor like Yu Shi would be perfect to portray an alpha too. So it's not impossible, it's just that they are unwilling or unable to cast the right men for the roles. I lean more for unwilling because they know that with their targeted audience being young women, the idol type will be more successful.
None of these actors look like an alpha from the Omegaverse. Where is the tall, muscular and very masculine man that is supposed to be the alpha ? These men all look too pretty for any one of them to be credible as an alpha.
Thank you. ;) They are not from me, I don't have this talent, but I commissioned them to a very talented artist I know.
@ KesRit "So no, it does not represent gay men".
I'm really the foolish one indeed. Sorry professor.
