I agree! I'm confused by all the boring comments. I am really liking it! But I do like a slow burn. So, maybe…
I don't find it boring, and I like slow burn romances too. But let's be honest, when after 4 (even 5 considering the preview) of 8 episodes, there is literally nothing between the two characters, and no hint or even possibility between the two, because one of them is totally clueless and has no interest of the other, it's not a slow burn romance anymore, it's just a slice of life/high school drama.

I'm wondering if this drama is some kind of challenge, to test patience, and see if watchers will stick until the end, because so far it's mostly frustrating. ^^
I keep watching because Fukada Ryusei's character Ryo is quite appealing to me and I really like Yoshida Mizuki (Chika)'s peformance in it, but considering the preview for episode 5, it seems this romance (if there is any) is going nowhere. We will have to wait for the last minute of the last episode...
Too bad because I love the aesthetic of this drama, even the path and the pace of the story would be okay if only there was some progress in the romance, but after four episodes there is literally nothing. At this point, if suddenly Hikaru becomes conscious of Ryo's feelings and recripocate them, it will only feels rushed and coming out of nowhere.

Why not? Im Siwan was able to pull off the character of a high school student in his 30s.
It's your opinion, and it's good for you if you are okay with it, but many, including myself, would disagree with that. Looking young doesn't mean that an actor will pass as a high schooler or student. Im Siwan, just like others actors passed 25/30 years old, clearly looks older than an 17/18 something young man, thus, it feels just weird seeing him or others wearing uniforms, weird or ridiculous actually.

I love Kang Joon and I'm very happy to finally see some news about him, but grown up actors playing high schoolers in Korean dramas or movies is really something I'm tired of. I personally don't find it credible at all, even if it's for a comedy.

An adaptation never depicts accurately its original source. The original is always better, because it's impossible…
"The current series have not even bother to show who Blackthorne is in order to justify why Toranaga is interested about him and why he is considering him an asset in his quest to become a Shōgun."
Well, that's the thing, I disagree on that. I think we can already see it in a way through the three first episodes, as well as " the cultural differences, the clothes, the food, the hygiene, sex, life style attitudes, the strategic and tactical differences etc". It's there, and very detailed in my opinion, but the focus is not on that.
As I already wrote, I think your expectations are too high and you can't enjoy this adaptation for what it is. Which is perfectly fine and understandable, it was the same for me for other TV series or movies adapted from books I love.

I get your point on Blackthorne and I agree that the one in the TV series doesn't appear as good as the book character, however, when it comes to the depiction of Japan at that time I think this adaptation is awesome and will make a lot of people watching it curious to find more about Japan, its history, culture, etc. As you comment suggests, you expect to see some specifics scenes in the TV series as written in the book, it's understandable of course, but like I wrote before, it's pointless to watch an adaptation with this mindset because it's bound to disappointment most of the time. It's always the case for me so I do relate with you but I think this one, as an adaptation and for someone who hasn't read the book, is very good.

Episode 3 didn't disappoint. I really like how precise and detailed everything is shown if you know and pay attention to it. In terms of production and historical depiction this is definitely a masterpiece.

It's a good show but it shouldnt be on MDL since it's AMERICAN and not japanese
Sanada Hiroyuki isn't Japanese maybe ? He is one of the producers, so it's a co-production, it has totally its place here.

After watching the first two episodes I see that there are some considerable changes in the plot that don't make…
An adaptation never depicts accurately its original source. The original is always better, because it's impossible to produce a movie or a TV series that will be exactly the same, especially when the original is a book. As much as I like a book, I never expect its adaptation to be as good because it's just impossible. So judging a film or TV series based on the accuracy compared to the original material is never a good idea I think, it's kind of stupid, because disappointment is guaranteed.

Probably one of the most disappointing sageuk I have ever watch unfortunately. I was very excited for this one, and the production is indeed great, nothing to say on that, expect that Shin Sae Kyeong's character and its development in this story is one of the worst for me. I like Shin Sae Kyeong a lot but this character is a big flop and it ruined the whole drama for me.

So will man suang be considered a bl movie or just a normal movie ? Because i saw it and there was nothing of…
I disagree. For me there is a clear bromance between Khem and Chatra in "Man Suang", even though the focus isn't on it during the movie and it's not heavy, but build slowly through the story. And the end shows clearly that there is a strong bond formed between them.
As for the promotion, I have not seen the movie officially presented as a BL or homosexual romance, except that, of course, Apo and Mile were associated.

"Man Suang" was never presented as a BL movie, it's only the fandom around Apo and Mile that hyped that. It's an historical thriller movie, a good one for me, but of course you can hint at some bromance between their characters, Khem and Chatra. So it's nice indeed that a TV series will explore their relationship further.

Japanese dramas always have the weirdest ways to confess and express their feelings, and I love it. ^^

After episode 3 Fukada Ryusei is the only reason I will keep watching this because the story is quite boring, considering episode 4 preview, nothing significant will happen in the next episode, and it seems like the frustrating type of drama where things will only really move in the last episode.

I have a question about Kang Inha's family background. I've basically gathered that he's Chairman Kang's illegitimate…
We haven't seen Inha's mother, but Jang Geum Seok is only Sung Hoo and Hee Joo's mother. The eldest, In Ju, was born from a previous wedding. He calls Jang Geum Seok "Mrs. Jang".

well, after watching half first episodes, its not a japanese drama its english so dont expect asian content
This comment is totally wrong. Watch both full episodes seriously. They spoke more Japanese than English, and we definitely see more Japanese people than English and Portuguese characters. You can dislike it if you want but don't write nonsense misleading others.
