The storytelling, the chemistry, the emotions, the cinematography EVERYTHING was so beautifully done. And that ep16 outro song Oh my God. It hit me right in the chest and made everything feel ten times more emotional. 😭
As a certified toxic BL lover, i honestly wasn't even that interested in A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in the Spring Hills Dream at first. I watched episode 1 and somehow got HOOKED. The tension, the yearning THIS is the kind of storytelling i live for.
The way this series slowly pulled me in and then proceeded to wreck my heart. I am going to miss these characters so much. What a masterpiece. What an experience. What a way to leave me emotionally devastated. 💔😭

The On1y One season 2 was cancelled it wasn't the fault of the actor.
There were already in talks of season 2 and it was cancelled. Even the director said the company initially promised to keep him on board, they completely stopped contacting him or updating him on the status of Season 2. And there was talks what they lacked investors.
It is so sad because Taiwan has a lot of potential.
I'm on my ep 3, one thing I'm still not clear is that what's the connection between main lead couple (QL and CY)…
To my understanding Han Lu and Qi Haoyu are actors who get paired together for a drama, and their on-screen relationship gradually mirrors the complicated history and mistakes of the main couple Shu Yuhao and Qing Lang.

Double Helix had a lot of hate because of the toxicity. That's one of the reason i like about Japanese bl they don't cast because of visuals and they do not center their bls about what their fans want or not. Sometime last week some fans were calling Japanese bl actors ugly. The last thing i would do is gosh over a bl because the visuals are good and the acting is basic.
As i age i have become less interested in fluffy, childish bls. I remember loving and gushing over MewArt (my first Thai ship) and i hated the first couple because their acting was cringe AF, i also loved Together With You and back then too even though Bright's acting was cringe AF🤣🤣

I totally agree a lot of their fans are young. The same thing happens to bls from Korea, Japan and Taiwan have low ratings. Imagine The On1y One having a rating of 8.2.
I also remember Duang with you been 9.0 and tbh it wasn't 9.0 worthy. Especially when we have bls like Spare me your mercy, I told sunset about you which are not above 8.2 and are one of the best Thai bl out there.
Even as an omegaverse fan i even had to put Knot on hold because they story isn't the best.

Most of the time, these Chinese BLs actually trend on Weibo, so their popularity and success can’t really be judged by MDL ratings alone.
Revenged Love was a successful BL and it has an 8.5 rating on MDL.
I also think Chinese BLs simply don’t have the same number of viewers as BLs coming from Domundi and GMMTV, which naturally affects how much engagement and visibility they gets.
