Uhm...I think it's also about the equation money = power. And if you look at it by this perspective, the fact…
i like that way of thinking. :) but then isn't the story type of the rich guy giving up his wealth for the girl he loves the best?
Kachiiing May 19, 2013
great article!i totally agree. well aren't those girls heroines? they fall in love with the guy despite the fact that he is rich.;P what i find even worse is that rich girls on the other hand are mostly shown as super bitches and if they are successful in their job they are even worse. and those poor girls who weren't looking for money and working hard, start to depend on the rich guy anyways. is it so bad for women to be strong on their own? feminine power!:D

I can't believe no one's subbing this on Dramacrazy. This drama needs more attention! :(
well good enough for softsubs i think.^^ but i don't know how to put a text in a video.^^° and it must be a lot of work. subbers are really great people!@_@

what about other pages? i would like to help you, but i never did subbing. so i don't know how^^° actually if you watch the korean version again, it's basically the same.XD but okay i understand that you want to know the words they're really saying.

i find kim joo won's mother unique cause unlike all the other evil moms that accept the heroine at the end and…
actually i think it's more realistic. i think most evil step-mom's won't really give up and even in marriage try to destroy the couple's happiness. i don't think any guy would be worth this. unless you move away with him and never talk to the mom again!:P
teetiger May 15, 2013
you might want to add Lee Sung Jae as Jo Gwan Woong from Gu Family Book in the future. that guy is one evil bastard!i hope he will have to suffer later on, not die..that would be too easy. oh my i'm getting a little too angry.^^° but that means the actors are really great if they make us hate a character this much.

Article Missed Kisses
:D haha love your article!i actually like the missed kisses, if they're in the beginning of a drama, because they really build up the tension. and many dramas tend to follow the stupid rule that after the first real kiss, they are a couple and HUG instead of kissing.-_- so i think it's better the later the kiss comes. but that ojakgyo brothers missed kiss made me mad! because it was a really long drama and it took them such a long time to get together, so i wanted a little more romance for the episodes left.

wuahaha:D this is great!it's kind of the same, but also not. i can feel the taiwanese style.^__^ but thinking of product placement, why does a soon to be nun own a super nice smartphone?
twinklelie May 10, 2013
oooh i totally forgot about the tw version!hooow could this happen to mee?°_° now i am excited!thanks for this great article! makes me want to rewatch korean and japanese version too. it's going to be a good thing to fill the gaps each time i'll be waiting for the new taiwanese episodes. hehehe^-^

i love your article!i didn't know a term like that existed.^^° i think we will all become pedonoona's in the future. i already had a shock when i found out some actors, i thought to be older, are my age or younger, even if just by one or two years. and i think there are different kinds of fangirling. if you are watching them for your private enjoyment and you have your 'other' life and your family, what should be wrong with that?! it's not to the extent of harold and maude ..she would already be a pedohalmoni? XD

bwahahahaXD all the bad hair XD ahahaha my tummy ;D but yeah thanks for this nice stalker's guide. i didn't know of this guy, but i might check him out now ^^ oh my god the haaair, did all bands at that time have weird hair? i really don't remember :D :D :D

haha i bought a samsung too.XD but not because of k-drama. i also dislike the fact everyone always has the same…
ooh i didn't think of that.:D well i have only been to korea for about a week, but they have a looot of coffee places. and in seoul you can often find restaurants which have huge signs and pictures which drama was filmed there. apparently the fans look up the place and go there to sit at the same table and eat the same food as in the drama.^^
VIP_Nerd Apr 23, 2013
haha i bought a samsung too.XD but not because of k-drama. i also dislike the fact everyone always has the same phone no matter how rich or poor. on the other hand i like when they show new technologies you can do with it. i think it's entertaining to know what you can do with a new phone. i find it more funny when they always eat or drink the same product or go to the same restaurant chain. :D i think they often have this with coffee places in korea. there is so many 'starbucks'-look-alike-places, i can't tell. but koreans must know which one it is.^^° so maybe it's more indirect placement?

yes true!thinking about the movie shakespeare in love:-D then why didn't they notice she was a girl ^^
AmandaMarta Apr 22, 2013
very nice article!:D i think the phenomenon is really fascinating. and i also think it's a very old concept in asia. like somenone said before in japan girl-looking men were playing women's roles in theater. in china also there were two ideals of men coexisting: the strong warrior and the gentle scholar. it was actually under western influence that the of soft and gentle masculinity was deemed as negative. but of course it was important that the good looking guy was intelligent, so he could be an official and have power!;)(sorry for my rant, i wrote a paper about this^^°)
it's very interesting to see the revival of those 'flower boys' thanks for all those information.
and my personal opinion: i think some asians just don't have a choice but to be a flower boy. seriously there was more than one time i really couldn't tell if the person was boy or girl. how can they be soo cute? and have no facial hair at all°_°

"During the ‘blamed’ financial crisis of 1997, women started to perceive themselves equal to their men.…
i think it's the fact that women changed and got more confident to choose the man they want, men had no choice but to change themselves. how women and men see each other always has influence on how they perceive themselves. so if women are looking for softer men, those men will have more success and other men see that and start to change themselves. wow that sounds so much like darwinism^^° well we're also just mammals:D

those recaps are fun to read. i think i might actually start this drama, even though i'm not that much into sageuk…
