LOL. You know, you are questioning every damn decision that the writer and director made. But you know what? I…
Love him so much I made a Book Frame cut of MIR/2 haha and seen everything he's been in. I'm so glad he hasn't spurned the world of BL, but instead is doing his part to make it better!
A shame... the first half of the movie was some quite excellent material, fear of coming out, homosexual behavior adjustment camps, homophobia, family struggles, and so much more! But it falls flat in the second half that's quite boring and everything is fixed because suddenly it's a supernatural story about reincarnation. A wasted opportunity of something that could have been much greater. I agree with the age gap thing brought up earlier... she's 16 and he has to be 36 or so? Also, why do writers/directors make strange choices in endings--unhooking the safety line? What? Why would anyone do this? Is this some kind of poetic message that the audience should take away from this movie? Nonsense.
On the side note, another gay killed in a damn traffic accident! At least this time they set it up and made it believable and actually had an emotional impact when we finally learn how Dew died. That part was touching! Dew Dew hadn't stayed home! (Here's looking at the stupidly random death crossing at a crosswalk in the middle of town...MDOC...]
OMG this was soooo good! I’m even more excited that I found out there is a sequel movie! I usually can’t stand…
Have you tried some other Japanese BL Dramas? Seven Days is nice, also liked Hidamari ga Kikoeru, Kinou Nani Tabeta?, No Touching At All... those are the ones that immediately come to mind that are quality dramas that have the same feel, none of the over-the-top situations and comedy, akin to Ossan's Love (which I still loved btw). If you want something with more grit, Pornographer and Mood Indigo are it.
Yup, pretty much agree with this whole review, especially the part about Pete and Kao being different from the previous series, which was wholly disappointing.

Having said that, DBK was a letdown. A forgettable series to leave back in 2019 and move on.
