OK OK OK, I could probably go on and on about what was different. Watch the series (Crunchyroll or wherever) and you can read the manhua in many places but here are some links:

Original Chinese
Ling Qi: http://ac.qq.com/Comic/comicInfo/id/523194

English:
Soul Contract: https://phoenix.translatednovels.com/soul-contract/

P.S.: Before I get a bunch of hate from fanboys, the anime isn't a perfect adaptation of the source either, but it's still closer than the movie.

Title Spiritpact Spoiler
Movie vs Source (manhua and anime) in no particular order:

- There are a couple of short, cute scenes where they attempted to do some fan service but there is no BL kiss. In fact, for Yang Jinghua to be able to interact with the physical world, he had to receive a kiss from Duanmu Xi but in the movie, just wearing the rings imbued this ability.

- The grandmother in the source is very sharp and very much in control of the household but the movie she is made out to be somewhat senile with YJ ingratiating himself to her. Also, the source made a huge deal of the inner politics of the family and its power struggles and this was not much of a part of the movie.

- The sheath for the sword is supposed to be the sign that YJ had in his shop handed down from his forebears, but this sign had little significance in the movie and instead it was YJ's blood that was the sheath.

- DX didn't have the ability to control time in the source.

I can't find full episodes of 9-15 anymore. They are all Alex and Benny cuts but I wanna see the whole show.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL FANS!!!!The reason why this series is so short was because their budget was limited.…
It probably kills a show to have it leaked on the internet dubbed in English days after it's released. If these studios can't or won't sub it for the International audience and then make it available on some platform they can generate revenue from, someone else will and revenue will be lost.

Right or Wrong, that's just the way it is.

This season was not as good as the first. In the first season Gus had a better hairstyle AND a way better boyfriend.…
I so agree! I wasn't happy with Gus either. Seems cold and a bit petty of him to dump Top because of his mom. Even when Top returned and wanted to still be with Gus despite his mom, I wasn't satisfied with the second breakup. Gus is an idiot who chose boring old, safe Win. I bet most of everyone who watched this hated that choice. (I kinda feel sorry for the actor who played Win because probably no fans like him).

Okay, LOTS of scenes were obviously cut out of this. No Huang Lige (even though he was in the BTS in full costume),…
Huang Lige made a brief cameo after the credits, btw.

Boring and confusing. Only char I liked was Meijin cause I loved the actor in his other works.

It is called "What the Duck" for a reason. Maybe it will be like Bad Romance where the sequel (or prequel) will be better?

Well, I did something terribly stupid. It seems I "rented" it for $12.00 awhile back and now I wanna watch it again with a friend who hasn't seen it. So...gotta pay $13.33 to own it this time. hahaha

Moral of the story: BUY it, don't rent it. You'll be glad you paid the extra $1.33 instead of me who paid $25.33 to own it.

Oh well, strongberry, PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE make more!

Release Statistics from KOFIC (Korean Film Council) as of 3/1/18, 8th day since release.

Sales: approx. 40M won ($37k USD) with approx. 4800 tickets sold.

The current climate in Korea, I wonder how hard it is to walk into a theater to see this. Maybe that accounts for the low ticket sales? I hope it does better internationally. This makes it hard for a studio to justify spending resources to make LGBT media.

FWIW: I'll support this production buy purchasing it when it's released. We all want more LGBT K-Dramas!

Hrm, I never considered that something could develop between Joke and Panghom. That look she had when he was touching her hair...

It was nice to see Jatjen and Pang interact together alone without all the friends and family around, going on that date. Really gives you the feeling of their enduring friendship and love.

2.99/mo with PayPal? Done. Set it and forget it. :O)
Thanks for all the hard work. This is my go-to website for all things Asian. Hope you add other Asian countries too--lots of good stuff coming out of Vietnam right now.
