- In the past, their parents were best friends and they almost lived together until he was 6 years old. After that, he still visited her often. He was in love with her at that time already. - In the present, he comes back after 4 years abroad. He came to this town only because she lives here. - Even tho she also cares for him (as a childhood friend only) at the start he tries to be so much with her that she gets annoyed. - Episode 6 he moves into her house because he doesnt have any other place (not really, he makes her think so) - In episode 8 she kisses him, but I wouldnt even count it. She is completly drunk and it's more like rubbing lips to get his lip color. Still, around here more or less she starts likeing him - End of episode 9 / start of 10 they really kiss. But after that she gets scared and starts avoiding him - In episode 12 he confesses but she rejects him. She loves him already at this point but she is worried about the age gap. - In episode 13 is the one where bad things happen. She kicks him out of her house, he starts ignoring her, another character confesses to her (she rejects him), she agrees to go to a date with another guy (she doesnt at the end) , and at the same time she agrees to go on blind dates the next day... She onky agrees because even tho she rejected him because the age gap, she misses him badly. - Episode 14 starts with the blind dates, which are a disaster, and ends with the leads getting together :) - They never break up, and are awesome to eachother until the very end - Episode 15 he moves back into her house - Episodes 23-26 is where their parents learn about their relationship. Which is awesome - Episode 27 they go public - Episode 29 he proposes and theres a 4 year timeskip where we see them with a son.

If you like a romance: lighthearted, sweet, without toxicity, almost without bad people, with tons of episodes with leads already together, no missunderstandings, no breakups, leads supported by awesome people, tons of hugs, good kisses... look no further. It does have a triangle on each side, but the kind which after they get over it, help the leads be together.
And I disagree so much with comments I read below. Yes, she is a bit cold towards him at the start. Well she doesnt love him yet, what do you expect. And she still cares a lot for him from the start. Yes, he is clingy, but never in a creepy way, just in a too caring way. Both leads are awesome from the start, it just takes some time for her to start seing him as something more than childhood friend, mostly because of the age gap. And that's basically the only hindrance for their romance. Which gets resolved pretty quickly
does this drama have evil parents or an annoying second female lead who tries to ruin the leads' relationship
Well like I said it's not even a competition. ML is 100% with FL when his ex arrives in town, so theres not really anything to fight for. The only small worry FL has is because when ML goes see his ex, he doesnt come back for the entire night. But as soon as he arrives he explains it was because his exwifes father (his mentor) had a stroke or similar and was brought to the hospital and he went there to be with him, so FL totally understands and even tells him to go again to keep him company
Clingy, pushy ML with zero respect for FL's boundaries. After four years without seeing each other, he runs around…
lol im reading comments deciding if I want to watch this. It's funny that I just read 3 people dropped it before episode 5 because how annoying FL is... and you drop it because ML is the annoying one xD
Just finished it. Mmh it's hard to rate. I enjoyed it.... but just because FL carried the show for me. FL was…
Romance recap:
It's harder than on other shows since it's 60 episodes long and they marry at the start.
- FL comes back from war and king grants her marriage with his nephew - They marry. She likes him from the start (knew him since childhood) but he hates her - They spend many episodes with him hating her and trying to get out of the marriage and she trying to please him - He slowly likes her more. - I consider them "really together" since episode 15, where they sleep together since he finally wants to. - They spend the rest of the show together without breaking up or having any major missunderstandinhg. - She was always lovely and he becomes lovely with her very slowly over time. - In the last "arc" she is pregnant - In the last scene we see a scene of the future with them as very old people talking with their grandsons
It's worth mentioning that theres something wierd for a romance. ML has 3 concubines. After leads marry, we never see him with them, not even flirting. But they are there and if I understood correctly he is supposed to sometimes sleep with them. Talking about FL not getting pregnant she literally said: maybe it's your problem since your concubines arent getting pregnant either.... It's wierd, but luckily besides some side comments, it is never directly shown

FL was amazing. Both the character and the acting. She was at the same time strong, lovely, caring, strongwilled, funny.... Her smiles made so many scenes bright.
The rest was just... ok. I skipped many parts. It's a pretty lighthearted show. You can watch it without the fear of terrible tragedies or angst. It's more oriented on the funny and sweet side for a historical show. It still has battles and deaths, but not many are important or tragic
ML is unlikeable for a lot of episodes. At the end he is sweet and caring too. But it takes him a loooot to get there.

No evil parents. In some episodes her mother doesmnt want them to be together because he is divorced, but not in an evil way. She just tells them and it creates a few funny moments when they try to hide and where her brother helps them out. It was never a real problem. Also, very few and short moments are about this. Same about the other question. His ex-wife stays in town for a couple episodes, and she misses him and has a small quarrel with FL. But it's pretty late and both leads are so great together at that point that FL has nothing to worry about. So again, you could say it happens, but without evil intentions, without creating a problem for both leads, and few Screentime. Trust me, I hate those things too and they aren't annoying
It has a terrible ending. They try to paint it as a happy one with a short scene at the end, but not, just terrible,…
Yes. She dies. In the last minute they fast forward 400 years and he encounters her reincarnation. But ofc she doesnt have memories or anything, she just looks the same. And show ends when he encounters her. That is not a happy ending for me.
It has a terrible ending. They try to paint it as a happy one with a short scene at the end, but not, just terrible, like all the tragedies that happen all along the show.
That's just trying to camouflage a terrible ending into a happy one. She died. He spent 400 years alone. And worst of all, she doesnt have any memories at all, that means she is just another person with the same appearance.

He is supposed to be pretty? He is so generic looking I wouldnt recognize him right after watching an episode
