Oh wow, I just saw that the episodes are 1 hour and 30 minutes on average—that’s absolutely insane. We’d…
They will probably be 1hr 10 min or 1 hr 20 min long. I've noticed that many shows that want to be sixteen hours long but not sixteen episodes long are doing twelve episodes but keeping the series to sixteen total hours. Also, this is the same writer as Still 17 which is a 10/10 drama for me.
Why isn't anyone changing the poster here? So far many vertical posters have been released...
It usually takes a day for the mods to approve the new posters. Since the new vertical poster has been uploaded to the Photos, I'm sure someone submitted it already.
why are korean drama getting lesser and lesser episode
The money is now coming from international streaming, not local ads. Before Korean networks had 8-week advertisement cycles so they would pre-sell ads for that time frame. 2 episodes per week over 8 weeks = 16 episodes. With streaming they can do whatever.
why did you change the name for this drama title? I swear, I was searching for it in my watch list going crazy…
The streaming services all changed the name. I've noticed several Korean shows that have changed the English title at the request of the Korean companies that own the show. Sometimes they change it to a more literal translation of the Korean title. Don't know why they changed it here though.
Yellow is the color of Happiness and Optimism. Yellow is a Cheerful and Energetic color that brings Fun and Joy to the world. It’s makes learning easer as it affects the logical part of the brain, stimulating Mentality and Perception. It inspires Though and Curiosity and boosts Enthusiasm and Confidence.
On the negative side, it represents Cowardice, Deception, Egotism and Caution. Yellow bellied means to be Cowardly and Afraid.
This show made me laugh and squeal in delight so much that the flaws didn’t detract from my enjoyment. This drama threw in ALL the tropes that the end was almost a parody of romcoms and I wasn’t mad about it. The comment amount ‘temporary insanity’ was so on point. LOL And the hilarious end credits was one of my favorite ever. It won’t rank as a high as some of my favorite romcoms, but I had a good time and it introduced me to Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin, whom I now love.
I like the obstacles that Dynamite Kiss has put in front of the second lead’s potential romance.
As a chaebol heiress, Hayeong is used to getting her way in most areas. While this makes her bold and entitled, she is not arrogant. Instead, she is insecure about not being taken seriously by her parents or her long-time family friend and betrothed, Jihyeok. While pursing her own vision at work, she runs into Seonu, immediately falling in love with his good looks and way with children. Honestly, who can blame her. Her act-of-kindness to pick up his kid from school is motivated half by her crush and half by trying to snag an artist for work. Understandably, he only sees this as a reason to work with her, not fall for her. Her bold confession, leaves him unmoved. This is partially due to his feelings for Darim but Hayeong hasn’t shown her real self to him yet. She wants so much to really be seen and loved for who she is yet she’s only shown him her superficial exterior. Hayeong needs to truly reveal her heart to be loved.
Seonu has been through dark times through his divorce but is saved by Darim and her mom. After recovering from his heartbreak, he sees Darim in a new light but doesn’t want to disturb his and his son’s new equilibrium with their two families supporting each other by pursuing a romance with her. When he sees Darim with Jihyeok, his jealously and protectiveness emerges as he watches ripples of this disturbing new presence threaten their peaceful life. He’s also been a step behind in trying to take care of Darim’s problems since she’s reluctant to share certain things with him and he doesn’t have the luxury of time to be able to keep tabs on her, like Jjhyeok. Then his new client confesses to him out of the blue and his son wants him to date her. He’s fallen hard in love before and was left with scorch marks on his heart that have taken years to heal. The idea of a comfortable love with Darim is hard to let go of for a scary, uncertain love with a beautiful new stranger who could hurt him and his son.
Hayeong needs to cultivate a real relationship with Seonu built on mutual trust and responsibility to raise a family together. They also need to be united in standing up to her parents who want an advantageous business marriage instead of a loving one for her.
Seonu will either need to quietly let go of a potential relationship with Darim or go through a painful rejection of his feelings to be able to move on. With the comfortable option gone, maybe a new love won’t be as scary to consider as he truly gets to know Hayeong.
These trials will bring them together in a way that is grounded and heartfelt creating a hard-won, long-lasting love.
Grinning and giggling my way through the latest episodes of Dynamite Kiss (ep6). This week was slightly calmer and let the leads be ‘swayed’ into acknowledging their true feelings. Though Jihyeok is still about to lose it at any moment with his high concern for Darim when he’s not bending over backwards to help her or admiring her ideas and high-quality work. 😁 We also got a bit more on our second leads, who are intriguing but will not be sailing smoothly either with many obstacles in their way. I was discussing this show with my sister who noted that the reason the married mother lie is so important for the FL is to showcase the real life discrimination against married mother’s in the workplace whom society and corporations coerce into staying home, whether they want to or not. The FL is also continuing to endure this burden alongside her fellow co-workers when she could easily tell the truth to get out of it.
