The criteria should be dramas with ratings less than 8
I agree. Even though I have many absolute favorites on the list that are rated in the 8 to 8.3 range, I limited my votes to those dramas that are rated less than 8.
Since it's your favorite trope you must've watched some, is there anything you haven't watched?
The only three I have seen on this list are Secret Garden, Tengoku to Jigoku: Psychona Futari, and Switched. I am adding the others you mentioned to my never ending PTW ! I have also seen the Dude in Me.
Secret Garden and The day of becoming you are my all time favourite ...I remember watching secret Garden 6 times…
I was the same when I first watched Secret Garden! I still enjoy rewatching it every year after all this time. I actually think the dated tropes and clothes are all part of the fun, and Hyun Bin as Kim Joo Won is so charming even in his ridiculous tracksuits!
There are very few dramas where I haven't cried.I remeber watching Crash Landing on You, My Love from Another…
OMG My Love from Another Star, Legends of the Blue Sea, and It's Okay Not to be Okay still bring tears. There were moments in It's Okay Not to be Okay I couldn't catch my breath.
Thank you for this article. It is so very relatable. The Smile has Left Your Eyes, Scarlet Heart, Chicago Typewriter, and Queen for Seven Days have so many scenes (and songs) that always bring me to tears. Other series (and songs from the series) that continue to have the same emotional impact throughout the series no matter how many times I see them are My Mister, Just Between Lovers, and It's Okay, That's Love.
I agree with you, I really feel disappointed after watching ep 7&8. I just don't understand why they build such…
Seriously. This could have been a wonderful series, but instead of moving the characters forward with a well written story, it is just more of the same. I hope that Sakaguchi is given main role with a more dynamic character and well written story...
You have to understand, in this generation people date anyone they want.
Thank you! With make-up, clothing, and lighting it is difficult to distinguish a woman's age. Younger women can look much older so it is hard to distinguish them from women in the bar who are in their twenties and thirties and go out of their way to look much younger than their age. Plus she was a model so would be more poised than most underage people.
The acting was alright, but the story is just too boring. It was honestly such a struggle to get to finish this…
I can even deal with the concept if it is done well and only part of the story, but this was written so badly that I just felt nothing but annoyed. I hope the actors get better roles and this one is forgotten.
I found "Love Will Tear Us Apart" to be very realistic in its portrayal of the different stages couples in love can go through as they experience living together through hardship, growth, and change. I really enjoyed it. All of these films look interesting especially First Love and Beyond the Dream (It has Beautiful Mind 2001 vibes),
I am sad this show is over. I am going to keep thinking about it for a while.I had a question though. Can someone…
Yes. It is very realistic. They are willing to sacrifice to keep their marriage. They are no longer in love with each other, but they care deeply about each other and they are a family so they are not willing to risk their marriage just because they feel love for someone else.
I was so relieved to see Doom at Your Service in this article. Especially since you so perfectly described what is wrong with it. I was disappointed with it from the very beginning of the series, but because I am a fan of the cast, I felt obligated to see it through to the end. I watched every episode searching for something redeeming, only to end up being embarrassed and sad for the actors that were involved in this series.

I was just as touched by the kissing scenes with Jung Soo and Kyung Eun as I am with the scenes of Boo Jung and Kang Jae. They have all struggled with loneliness and disconnection for so long, how can we not be moved when they finally are able to connect emotionally and physically with another person and find comfort.
This drama is such a unique experience. All the characters and relationships in this series are so human and very relatable on some level. No one is just good or evil, and what they do is not completely moral or immoral. They are just ordinary people having very human experiences and doing what they can in each moment. Because of this, I am able to be emotionally moved by all four of the main character's stories, and I can sympathize with the support characters as well.
