i am so confused, most the reviews on this say it's not good and nothing like the source material, but it somehow still has 7.9 rating while the korean adaptation (that i just finished and thought was nice) only has 7.8??? so is this adaptation good or not?

also who does it say 36 eps when on youtube there are 40?

Exactly! I have only seen one episode and the push towards this couple (Wang Yoo and Seung Nyang) is soo strong, I'm struggling to continue; because I really don't want them to be together - I arrived to see her become Empress after all. Maybe I should just skip this drama :/

imo overall it's not, but some stories are good. as they are independet of each other it's a mixed bag. I found scary episodes 6, 1, 5 (ordered from the one i think was scariest); but i'm also rather easily scared
