I like his expression. Even though he's not the most good-looking ML, but to me, his expression is ideal for my type of ML: charming, seductive, humorous, loving, sweet. Love him!
In ep. 46, where Donghua finds Fengjiu hugging Shen Ye, and walks away -> very unlikely that a confident, almighty God will walk away. Also not likely that he will get sick from the rain, being that his body is so powerful. If it was the case, Miao Luo should just fight him with rain. LOL.
Fantasy drama has its own rules and it makes sense as long as they explain the rules. They can follow the rules…
@glixies I would be ok with new concepts if ELOD did not take place in the same world as TMOPB and LAD. Why not take place in a "new" made up world, then that would be more acceptable. That's just my opinion. I love the Donghua character ever since "Legend of the 8 Immortals" and wished they approached this story a bit differently.
The "Shadow" part was a bit confusing too. I read about Immortals' "emanation", but never heard of the "shadow" concept. Maybe the author was trying to bring out the "emanation" concept, and did it sloppily.
I wish the author or screenwriter watched "The Legends of the 8 Immortals", where I first saw a portrayal of a cold, realistic, practical Donghua who doesn't believe in Earthly couple's love. I prefer the love story in this drama over ELOD's storyline. I feel they have moved away from the concepts of immortals and created their own world that doesn't make sense to me, for ex. using magic in the Earth realm will backfire on the immortal...huh? That's a different concept that is not true in many immortal dramas I see. So far, I still like Love and Destiny more. I'm on episode 30 of ELOD and still haven't been captivated even though the two leads are perfect for the role. I think another reason can be that other characters take up too much screen time and ML and FL screen time together is limited.
With so many actors in the industry, and they picked Tik? No, Tik doesn't fit the role. Never liked Kimberly cause her acting is annoying. She reminds me of Mam Kathreeya, very pretty, but annoying voice and acting. Good storyline, but not my choice of actors. Will skip.
I really want to like this drama but having Sang Sang and Ning Que as a couple, just made me sick to my stomach. He raised her up from a baby! Isn't that sick? (Not sure how a kid can raise a baby also) Also, Fuzi is not supposed to be involved with politics, but on the contrary, he caused a lot of political problems, aka picking the future king. On the plus, the sceneries are beautiful and the fight scenes are pretty impressive. I think Author Chen fits the role well. I think the great Wei Guangming died too quickly, as well as other great masters. And LongQing is too gentle acting to be evil.
I really like this drama. It has such a pure love and less dramatic than TMOPB. I really love the songs and characters. The only complaint is the ending is a bit cut off, as we don't know how Jiu Chen escaped. But I think the characters are very likable. I loved it so much that I even bought the FL and ML's Love Knot Braid and Baizi doll! :)
i personally dont think he was portrayed “good.” he defs had flaws (e.g. high pride and can be arrogant).…
I just can't find it in myself to watch it. The drama is just too cliche and Yang Zi just gives me a bad taste in my mouth. I'll skip and watch other less annoying drama.
You don't think Zhao Lin is good looking?! O_O wow... To me he resembles Yang Yang and that dude is gorgeous.
Yang Yang is good looking, but he seems a bit short to me , so his overall is not as alluring as Xing Zhao Lin. XZL does not have the good-looking face, but overall, he's tall and charming, so to me, I do like XZL. I like Yang Yang too, but haven't found a drama where I find him alluring like XZL in Eternal Love.
I would have liked this drama if the FL was in college or older. It's a turn off to see an old guy in a relationship with a high school girl. :( (Same reason why Twilight was a turn-off for me too.)
It's very interesting how they are bringing back a lot of these old, famous actors/actresses like Chang Chen into these great dramas. One thing I do noticed is that Chang Chen is not very graceful like Mark Chao. Feels he is awkward in his acting, but let's see how it goes and if he improves. Really excited for this drama!
The "Shadow" part was a bit confusing too. I read about Immortals' "emanation", but never heard of the "shadow" concept. Maybe the author was trying to bring out the "emanation" concept, and did it sloppily.
