I wanted to watch this ever since it came out but kept holding back because of the episode count. Now that I finally have the time to sit down and watch it, I really regret not watching it when The Long Ballad fandom was still alive and active.

This drama is such a mixture of palace politics, survival, martial arts, alliances, female independence, family and romance. There is honestly so much happening but somehow it all comes together really well. I loved the whole survival aspect of the FL and how she slowly built her own alliances and relationships while trying to navigate all the political mess around her.

The other characters were also memorable. The romance itself is also really nice but it doesn't completely overshadow everything else going on. Every actor did an exceptional job and looking back at the cast now is actually crazy. No wonder so many of them are A-listers in C ent now.
