Do we know the context of those flashbacks (probably at the beginning of ep 15, but maybe at the end of ep 14)? Well, first of all, what do we know about Feng Shiye's deal with Qingchuan? We know he tortured her, but then we see her in his residence (maybe after he released her after they made the deal?) The first flashback shows him rape her. And in the second flashback, we see her drinking on the roof and the servants yelling about protecting the child - which leads her to consider and take the step to abort HER child. I really just want to know what the deal/agreement between them was.

If it was to marry him, having sex with someone against their will, whether they're married or not, is rape, so marriage could have been part of the agreement, but then, from the flashbacks, it doesn't look like her departure was ever part of his plan. So maybe the drug that hindered her cultivation was part of their deal in 'allowing' her to return? But this is all just conjecture. This is based on a book, right? Anyone know what it was in the book?

Outlier here, but I still like bromances, especially if they're not all killed off at the end. I don't like bromances if they do the characters dirty, or the plot isn't as good or its essentially queerbaiting instead of a good story, but I love depictions of two characters who have a special bond that is beyond that of friend. Like Under the Skin. Incredible show and incredible characters and relationship between the two characters. I think that depictions of that kind of strong bond between two men in media is important to have out there in the world. You never know, a normie might come across it and have their whole attitude changed on what defines a positive male relationship. The girls certainly like it. (also I just went to a training on the manosphere. So disturbing)

Though, Shuhe also said he was dying as the thing that would hurt Zi'ang the most, so for revenge, so I was kinda confused why he seemed happy to see Zi'ang follow right behind. Was it like, hey, here's the life of freedom we dreamed, but surprise, it's actually death! But I could feel ok about it only if I lied to you for the hundredth time and did the thing that would hurt you most before we could get there?
