Well, if I had to apply medicine to his back, I would have also developed feelings for him. πβ€οΈ They should have given more time to developing the ML/FL romance than all the screen touchy/feely time with Hua Rong Zhou. They made it seem more like Zhong Xi Wu had feelings for her, but she had none (or little) for him. I felt bad for him. Oh well, maybe all his love statements to her in the time of her 2nd coma opened her heart to him more. He was so happy when she called out his name at the end.
I guess i'm the only one glad that it was all a dream. They did have snippets and foreshadowing that it was all…
I think there were a few clues about her feelings for him: she kept the medicine bottle he gave her for a long time, the way she looked at him when he last visited her in the dream sequence, the way Hua Rong Zhou wouldn't kill him in the dream sequence because "she wouldn't like that". However, I also thought Hua Rong Zhou had too much screen time. And I found her irritating that she touched him so much. Of course that would affect a young man. And her drunken bite on his face "to taste how sweet he was" was just so stupid to me.
I heard him say Yes when he was asked if he liked her in one of the later episodes, but to me the drama did not portray any real reason for him to like her romantically. There was no real build up showing any romantic progression. I still say there was no chemistry between the two in the drama. I read that in the novel this is based on, it says they will end up together, but I still find this disappointing. Every so often, I see a Chinese costume drama where the leads really match well, a romance progresses well, and the chemistry is spot on. The most recent example I can give is Blossom (2024) with Li Yun Rui and Meng Zi Yi. Both characters are very strong, and match well. They do not start out liking each other, but the story shows how that changes over time. Their romance makes sense and there is wonderful chemistry between the characters. Now all this is just my opinion. Perhaps many people love the "romance" between Xiao Se and Qian Luo, and mentally they can "fill in the blanks" of their romance that the drama does not show. But, I do like The Blood of Youth, just not this particular pairing.
IMHO, too bad. In the drama, they didn't match at all and had no chemistry. She is one-dimensional and easily jealous without (or before) any reciprocal feelings from Z=Xiao Se. Only good thing I can say is that she was an excellent fighter, but that does not make her a love match. Oh well, I've seen other Chinese costume dramas where there is a very handsome, very intelligent male lead character, who winds up with someone who is kind of stupid and naive, but who the audience thinks if pretty.
no please, she IS the worst character of the serie
IMHO, I don't care if they give her a subplot, but I really hope they don't continue to try to imply a romance between her and Xiao Se. It didn't work in the first season. They have absolutely no chemistry and they are so dissimilar in many ways. A new character or even the White Tiger would match him better.
I can only speak from my experience in the US. Sometimes women are supportive, but not always. I am an introvert, so I mostly observe, and I've been observing a long time.
I see some women that are supportive, but only within their circle of friends. I do see some women that try to be supportive of everyone, including females. But I personally have not seen women that are only supportive of other women.
Many women (like men) are trying their best to live well, and their lives may not give them the time or occasions to be supportive of other women (or men).
I have seen women who are manipulative and can be cold or cruel to other women. They act sweet to men, but when another woman appears, they criticize and demean them, many times behind their backs. I have also seen mothers who are not supportive of one or more daughters.
If you are lucky enough to be around supportive women, cherish it. But do not expect all women to be supportive, at least here in the US.
It is best to rely on yourself, and not to expect or hope that you will find someone supportive.
This is weird. Is plastic surgery so advanced in ancient China? Nobody blinks even though the FL has a transplanted…
I didn't like the swap. I liked the first actress much better. They also did a face swap in Love of a Thousand Years, and again, I preferred the first actress.
I loved how pure the character of Bailidongjun is depicted here. It really is a story about youth. People who…
I'm only on episode 8, so maybe it improves. But so far Baili Dong Jun had to drink substantially to perform great sword techniques. I am so tired of him drinking a lot so many times: in contests, on horseback, etc. I am trying to be patient, but this is very irritating to me. I thought at the sword contest, it was not only rude, but also disrespectful. The other contenders are serious and sincere, but he was not.

It's not the first time that I've disliked a pairing in a drama.
