Exactly! The side plot always included the abusive father of a rich family and workplace drama. The abusive man has caused the ML’s mother to suffer and need lawyers and the step sister has been plotting to rise to the top since the beginning. The reason the female lead with no corporate experience was hired, which started the plot. Idk why they can’t let the drama resolve the side plots first.
condoning the slap 100% but not surprised. the same man who made his wife attempt su*cide bunch of times, sent…
Certain viewers over reaction is ridiculous. The woman needs lawyers because of what she has suffered, and her suffering has been shown since the beginning, but they’re acting surprised the drama is resolving a side plot rather than ignoring the abusive father/husband.
I'm surprised Ah eun Jin plays this mindless Barbie FL after the countless excellent roles she had before. I hope…
She is excellent here. She is portraying a charming, but inexperienced person, who learned how to be a hard worker in a different kind of environment. Even if the male lead’s step sister chose her because of her lack of lack of experience to sabotage her step brothers team, she never gave up trying succeed in that environment. The actress embodied the characters charm. There is no brainless “Barbie” mindset in the character at all, from what I saw. Only a corporate inexperienced person trying to survive to pay off her mother’s medical bills caused by her the debt of her sister, while trying to remain positive, even forgiving towards her sister. A brainless Barbie wouldn’t even be in this situation. That type of character would be rich no matter what she does for work.
Wait!! How does it still have a 8.3 rating it's like they are robbing us is broad daylight. And the slap what…
From the beginning, the side plot included the rich family abuse in the home and workplace from the start. ML’s mother even needs lawyers after suffering so much. Step sister plotting to rise to the top, trying to sabotage by selecting Da Rim with no experience started the whole plot. Da Rim turned out to be a hard worker, but they have to resolve they are resolving a side plot that has been there since the beginning.
DK falls in line with other kdramas that feel fresh and compelling at the beginning but get progressively worse…
This drama was trope-y from the beginning. The difference now is the fourth quarter has tropes people grew to hate after watching kdramas for years. They now want tropes to only be the exciting swoony ones. I understand a that’s just not how kdrama rich family workplace dramas have ever been. In dramas with rich families, there is usually abuse OR succession in the home/workplace. I’ve accepted it. Even stepsister plotting rise to the top, was there from the beginning. It’s what started the whole plot and why DaRim was chosen in the first place. They’re just trying to conclude that side plot now.
If certain scenes feel too uninteresting. I just skim/skip them. That’s how I deal with rich family tropes now, unless they made every single family member compelling or fascinating, like in good makjangs or thrillers…
There’s definitely worse if you watch more dramas. This was an entertaining workplace romantic comedy. And it lived up to the genre… I wasn’t expecting anything else.
Holy 2000s type shittt. So many clichés and the FL has been nothing but a damsel in distress this whole time.…
Definitely disagree about “nothing but” a damsel “the whole time”. Incorrect. She made her own choices to protect her mom too and worked hard.If she was just a damsel she’d barely have screen time and would have been a supporting or side character. A real damsel would have no agency. That’s not the case here.
I loved the movie. If you have explored enough genres and do not care about the show being about 1 specific genre…
I had a similar feeling watching Arrival and Inception. All three different concepts, but mind bending plot with parental relationships theme in the background. This one is more front and center with the parental relationship. Wow what a rollercoaster!

definitely overstimulating in the first half
before we knew what was going on, I was really busy trying to hear what the announcer was saying lol
