I do agree about the annoying inbalance portraing male leads not even trying to date anyone else, but then writing female leads to date someone.
Maybe that bias comes from some cultural belief that males are less afraid of staying single. Or writers are probably overcorrecting to satisfy target demographic for females, by focusing more on the male leads feelings. Irdkā¦

However Korean romance tropes are often based on believing in one true love and fate. Thereās a line in āPast Livesā that explains their reasoning.
