Imo it's looking to be the most interesting role she's played so far from all the dramas I've watched with her. You can watch her character grow and completely change throughout the story. I noticed that in many of her past roles, her character is someone who is already strong. Whereas for this one, she starts from scratch and develops over time. Every character is very complex and multi dimensional as well.
There are also many emotional scenes, which I think she excels at the most. They might add some fluff since it's an idol drama, but I would say the novel leans towards the realism of war. Of course, this could all change in the drama, but from the limited leaks we have, it seems pretty similar to the novel so far. It's also her first S+ drama as the FL!
can someone spoil me if this is going to have a sad ending?? someone called it the trauma of the year😭
Without spoiling too much, the novel is a sad ending with the extra chapters making it a happy ending (but like 3 sentences of it). But from the supposed leaks and rumours, it seems like the drama changed the ending so we're not sure whether it will be a HE or BE in the drama.
The trauma is mainly from how throughout the whole story, it's just continuous angst and is very emotionally draining. There are a few sweet and joyful moments which hits hard because of how precious these moments are and you really feel the two leads deserves it. However, as soon as happiness appears, sadness is lurking.
The hard life of paparazzi on Dancing With The Tide set 🤣😂🤣They're really going all out!https://x.com/lala_jct/status/2039863333554110520https://x.com/lala_jct/status/2039861231368950132
"Everyone knows I'm currently shooting DWTT. I've been saying I think this drama has been where my skills are improving the fastest. Because everyone is putting their hearts into creating a great final result together, so every day feels really fulfilling and meaningful.
Even right now, I feel like I'm probably 80% as Nan Yi. Even after work, I find myself thinking about how I can portray Nan Yi better. I really like being in this state. Constantly asking myself, “How can I do this better? How can I break through my limits?” and trying to surpass myself through this process makes me very happy.
The styling, like the costumes and makeup, is also very diverse and constantly changes to reflect the character's different stages of growth. Most of all, because the character’s growth narrative is so clear, the story is divided into different stages depending on the time period. As the protagonist goes through various events, their inner psychology keeps changing in subtle ways, so every delicate emotional nuance has to be precisely captured. Since each scene is quite complex and layered with emotions, it’s a work that really requires the process of thoroughly organising and understanding the character’s inner thoughts."
They also briefly discussed the black clad reteur from 2 days ago, and she said shooting those scenes improved her energy and stamina.
He didn't kill zyh🤣 just hit him out of jealousy n as revenge for hurting nanyi. Oh btw, I thought JC will…
I really hope they keep the scene where both of them stood outside because they were scared to talk to Nan Yi and the book called both of them cowards. It was in the same chapter as this scene. The only time I laughed during the whole novel but it was so good.
Masochist! ;pI'm right there with you. Give me all the angst!
It needs to keep the angst because it's the core theme of the novel! Otherwise it'll just end up as another typical idol costume historical drama we've all seen 1000x times before.
Wasn't he more of a strategist or did I remember wrong? I don't even know where you could put extra war scenes…
Oh right forgot about the past. Doubt you'll see him fighting though since technically its not his role anymore as a strategist!
Hmm, technically this is still an idol drama right? But of course all of us here hope they try to avoid going down route. Otherwise we'll instantly lose the strengths of the novel's nature of realism and angst. I wonder how many sets they actually need to build though since majority of the story is in the same place.
Haha I only want a good OST because cdramas editors seem to love slapping OSTs on every scene!
I will riot if there r no war scenes filmed for this drama.. if he is a general, they should show some war scenes,…
Wasn't he more of a strategist or did I remember wrong? I don't even know where you could put extra war scenes that fits though. The novel never really focused on war scenes but on an intelligence war instead. I hope they spend that money on the OST, like how First Frost spent their S+ money on it, with more than double the usual songs and many bangers.
What do u mean by downgrade to meme and aura? Which ckt got downgraded to meme and aura recently for you to fear…
I feel like his screentime has only been around 5-10% of each ep in the past few episodes. Anyways, I won't spoil much, you can watch and see for yourself!

I haven't read Zhu Yu's novel but Xie Zheng became so irrelevant in the latter half of the drama... Feels like if you just removed him from the past 10 episodes, so far nothing would've changed lol
Part of the last episode? I would have expected this to be part of when she leads the family army away from their…
Yeah that's what I thought too. Especially if it's the last episode, does that mean they cut out the last 6 chapters and just go straight from winning the war to an ending? Not much time to wrap up the story.
I really like Cao Jun's armour too. http://xhslink.com/o/4irRfvCC83T
They seem to have matching outfits! Just one is gold and the other is silver

I need to know how much they get paid to be worth doing this 🤣

I think this is the same clip but from Nan Yi's angle http://xhslink.com/o/KDRGDHtvNC
