finished at last. this could’ve just been a six episode series and still be fine, even better than this mess. nothing made sense. the characters, their dynamics and personalities and behaviour - nothing rly matched and the romantic angle for eunho siyeol just made things more confusing as it felt like they went from 0 to 100 rapid fast. the chemistry was Lacking but i believe letting them stay as friends who had a love-hate relationship would’ve worked better for the show. the plot was a mess and they kept repeating the same things multiple times and took not a single concise action to get things done and the answers we get are all so lame and only made me roll my eyes in the last episode. the villains and their motivations? fuzzy and lame. this was a show that could’ve done with more revising of the script bc the actors did their best but with so little given to them, the end results ended up being completely subpar. if you care about good buildup of the characters and their arcs + a tight plot in your drama, don’t watch this.

oh! oh!!! the genius of the narrative handling in this episode impressed me. my believing that ahjin did it so surely based off of her behaviour and personality up until now + the framing of it as her being the one who pushed her only for that twist to hit. i love it bc without even knowing, somewhere inside me, i was looking out for that shred of humanity left in ahjin just like junseo and that’s why was quite disappointed at ingang’s grandma’s death being potentially her doing. junseo’s suspicious dread at the start of the episode - “what kind of prayer did desperate ahjin offer up? at death’s door, was that one’s life or one’s end? was that death god’s answer to ahjin’s prayer or his punishment?” and ahjin’s prayer - “it’s all my fault. save her life. please save her life.” so we have all the answers in the end 💔

im on episode 8 after she killed ingang’s grandmother and my essential qualm w ahjin’s character seems to be that she never loses - things always go her way and even when there are obstacles, she always always overcomes them after a hiccup and that just stays interesting for so long. everyone loves her and everyone gets brainwashed by her and everyone's ready to do things for her. i want to see her downfaaaaaaallll. i want to see her behind bars and possibly worseeeeeeeee. only reason im watching at this point is to know what the outcome for all these characters is and ah they just had to choose such a good cast for this to keep me hooked until the end. yh just had to vent for a sec bc i find ahjin fooling ingang and then killing his grandmother unfair, even more w jaeoh and junseo's reaction. junseo seems to be seeing the light but i cant be too sure but jaeoh. i was a little shocked at his immediate reaction of shielding ahjin, as it was also his first show of the intensity of ahjin's cruelty.

heo namjun is so fine hello 😭😭😭😭 i need to see everything he is in like RIGHTNOW!!!!! that aside, im on ep8 and didn’t we stretch this a little bit too much? i think the aspect of heejoo being 406 could’ve been revealed waaaaaay sooner bc she was being too amateurish so idek why she’s shocked saeon already knows lol. but yh idk what we’re going to be doing for five more episodes bc the plot is becoming a mess

on ep6 and it’s just.. not fun anymore. up until they reached the eight-tailed fox, it was fun and their back and forth was fun but after that.. and the glimpses of a romance are just not hitting honestly it feels pretty awkward given eunho’s characterisation and her flippant nature. which is fine but i would like if there were layers to her that we, as audiences, would feel curious to see peeled off but um. not to say that siyeol is all that interesting, either. he’s supposedly so eager to go back to his life but i can’t feel his urgency nor can i understand this feeling of stalling in this episode. it’s just plain stupid and with that, the lack of chemistry between the characters becomes obvious. the eight-tailed fox is so stupid and i know the angle of “oh you are wrapped around her finger” but it’s so outdated, the whole amusement park date, ygwim? honestly, this drama feels like it tried to evoke the feelings of some of the “older” dramas but drastically failed and did not try a lot after coming up w the initial plot. and until ep4, it was fine so no wonder both lomon and hyeyoon took the roles lol such a pity if it continues going downhill we lomon fans waited so long for this 😓

i knew it!!!! i felt that she did bc everything felt so deliberate & had that personal touch to it and oh gosh the scrunchies she wore, the hairstyles aligning at times w her emotional state - it was all too perfect. shes really so cool

it was fine. the story jumping from xuyan's character arc to their rs so heavily was a little baffling although i understood the why of it. the first 15 or so episodes passed by in a breeze but the second half, should i say, was draggy and boring and jumped every place - from mr. baraikin to the sitou situation, yanyan studio slander and shit, lintao and haoming's company struggles in the end - it all felt loosely tied together and not part of a linear narrative, tbh. i wanted to see haochen before we said goodbye but he literally disappeared after coming back from xuyan's grandma and i hated it, he was one of the best aspect of this mess. and bc i needed to see more of haochen and haoming as father and son, bonding yet still staying the same as siblings. xuyan's parents arc was the weirdest - they felt like important pieces of xuyan's narrative but they.. weren't. nothing explains the way they treated xuyan back then to then act like she was in the wrong for cutting them off completely. also qiao lin. them being good w each other was nice, ig, but it bothered me, idk. xuyan and haoming are so power couple though. seven stars. xuyan's styling from hair to makeup to outfits was so beautiful and had that interesting touch till the end. i have a feeling it was lusi's doing so ty queen <3

It pains me so much because the stimulation of having to focus on what is being said and having to get the gist of it from the little Korean I know vs having the wrong subtitles in the bottom - it drives me mad. I am currently watching Beyond Evil and the relief I have of the subs being correct is so overwhelming man where did we go wrong :/

I was hopeful at the start because it felt like it was going to talk about assault through both our main characters but.. okay, I still like the tension, the pensiveness, the unknown but not at all hoping for realistic stuff happening hah

The Netflix subs are so freaking infuriating because of how wrong they are. I hate any show getting a Netflix deal, not because it'll suffer from unnecessary seasons and shit (that, too) but most importantly because of the subtitles. I'm even inclined to say they are fed through to AI and half-heartedly fumbled together. How are you translating things that are not even being said, if not.

this version is so much more faster bc its 10 episodes and that's just a Little disconcerting when we move from scenes to scenes. i am so glad it is though bc all that drama later on from the k-ver is just. Not Needed. i think why it gripped me the entire way was misa NOT knowing suzuki came from the future, mainly, bc that ruined that spark for me in the korean version to have them discuss everything, also the entire point of her doing things again was to do them on her own and without relying on someone else, like how misa said, i can't leave it to someone else. if i do, it'll be the same. a major factor that let me down in the kdrama. i am not sure where ill put it on the scale of chemistry though? i think takeru is hot in a tsundere main lead (an incurable case of love) or a hot pathetic old man way but i cant quite get his vibe in this...? hes still hot and cute oldman like when he gets flustered and when he FINALLY kissed her, when she asked, ofc (<3), but their chemistry is.. a little confusing? i think i like that, too. the coworker to lovers pipeline is so precious to me lol its so.. romantic to see two ppl who respect eo for their work also Fall in love? all the formalities are so ARHHJ. either way, don't care bc just seeing them together is enough of a treat for me :D last two episodes left to go, let's finish it well ^^

once again, i love mr. yu's character so much is because he is always ready to step beside jiwon to make sure she is living the life she deserves, but he never tried to make himself noticeable in her eyes, never became jealous or someone who complicates her already twisted life, someone who just patiently waited for jiwon to come towards him, even giving her up when their lives didn't overlap in their first life. he loves her so so much and the monologue from director suzuki, going on abt how he wants to do the simplest things with misa— watch a movie together, share their thoughts as they take a walk afterwards, drink their favorite boring tea together. just. simple quiet joy is what he wants to share with her. and it pains me bc from his perspective, it's hellish, too. to see someone he loved so much but couldn't reach for be wasted away, DIE actually right in front of his eyes, to see her murderers pompously denying doing so right at her funeral, to exist even for those few days without misa's existence. knowing he lost her for good. and so his little comments— i am glad you're doing well, as long as you're laughing, you just focus on what you need to do, you can do everything, slowly, one by one— make me so 🥹🥹 how relieving it must have been for him to see her simply eat well, laugh well, exist and bloom all on her own

on the 3rd episode and watching this just made me miss the original more so i, resigned, pulled up the og and it's unbeatable in general but there's this coldness in yeji's eyes as she acts as munyoung that makes you feel unsettled because she acts the way she does but her eyes and her heart hide a deeper pain that is felt through the screen. her broken parts. that is showcased so well in the original. i can't feel that same untouchable feeling w the fl here.

started this just as it finished bc i knew id be terrible at waiting and OH!!!!!!! it's already so much more better than the korean version for me. bc thank goodness it doesnot incorporate the pretty after the glasses cliché:3 plus the small addition of her grandmother and her first reaction being 'im healthy and hungry again' and eating delicious food ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 so warming. rooting for misa-san ❤️‍🩹 (my only wish if it can even be called is that i hope we, the audience, are not told suzuki is from the future from the get-go plsplspls it doesn't seem like they are planning to but still. pls)
