Same here…Something about it is special. All characters are great, their friendship is so niceeeee.
exactly! I love how they focus on individual characters and they make us care about them and so when the leads feel like secondary characters it isn't upsetting. if you've watched ep 12 the leads were barely on screen for 5 minutes but the episode had my whole attention

when they said they wish they all stay friends forever and didn't lose a single person I could've cried, something so simple yet meaningful. and then ep 10 with grandma as the focus and how she couldn't talk to her dad cos he misses him mum too T_T
I never expected to love this drama as much as I currently do. It's incredible how it's so heartwarming and sweet and all the characters are likable. We're only 10 eps in but I think this will be my 2023 cdrama.
Eeeek. You watched it dubbed. I didn't think people actually put themselves through that to avoid subtitles...…
well at least you've learnt something new from the experience! but honestly props to you for making it through the drama dubbed, that must have been painful!

omg netflix did this to me as well. In the first scene I heard them talking and thought ooooh they're speaking english but then I saw that their mouths weren't moving at the same time as the sound and I was like hell no and changed it to eng subs. That sigh of relief was real when I heard their actual voices. Netflix has never automatically done this to me before either but it seems like english dub must be automatic for this drama?
Hey! I love your review! I love the little comments you made (I remember livewatching the darkness that was the ending of Memories of the Alhambra so 100% can relate).
I just binge watched the entirety of this drama over the weekend (oops) because idk why I was hesitant to start it when it was released (maybe it has something to do with the fact I put on hold *cough dropped* both Are you human too and I'm not a robot basically the week before they ended).
I found that I went thorough a range of emotions throughout the drama regarding the AI concept. At first I was quite amazed and intrigued and then I was sobbing as Holo helped So Yeon gain confidence in her life and open up to her colleagues (though I still dislike them for how they treated her at the start). And then it got weird when they started developing 'feelings'. Also how tf did So Yeon go from 'don't talk to me when I'm with people' to basically talking to herself in public (re: the botanical garden 'date' was unacceptable, girl was bulldozing boundaries and social conventions left right and centre). My whole perception of AI flipped when Evil Inc took over and watching how people used and were monitored using the technology was super unsettling, I ain't signing up for anything like that anytime soon. Also speaking of Evil Inc I can't believe the straw that broke the camels back was the son finding out that his father killed Nan Do's mother, not the thousand other dodgy things he's done or made his son do? And repercussions for your actions? The writers were like idk who cares as long as the otp is together?
BUT in saying that it really was a decent watch. I was extremely happy to know that Holo was still out there close to them and that life seemed to be good for the otp (I mean that reverse piggyback? cuteness overload!!?!!?)
And yes I think there was a certain charm to watching this while the most of the world is in some form of quarantine, which the creators didn't anticipate but worked in their favour.
I am glad you liked my review. This drama stuck with me for a long time and inspired me in real life too. I avoided…
Yes I would definitely recommend it! It can seem pretty heavy at times but there are so many good parts to it. The found family trope is A+ and the 3 main leads are so talented (and beautiful). I was so addicted to it I even watched it raw!!!!

Oh no ?? maybe give it the 4 ep test and if you don't like it by then don't watch it. tbh a lot happens within the first 5 eps so you'll definitely be able to get a feel for the drama by then.
I wanna watch this after falling in love with Song Wei Long in Go Ahead but I'm not sure if this plot can keep…
lol I came here after Go Ahead too and was also a bit hesitant. Honestly the fast forward button will be your best friend (well it was for me during the FL and SML scenes). I do recommend watching it (even if it's only to see Song Wei Long for a wee while longer) and the parents here are just as sweet and supportive as Li ba was.
I love everything about your review. I watched this drama a few weeks ago and I honestly can't let go of it. I was a bit hesitant to start this when it was released but now I regret not watching it sooner. I came here after watching Go Ahead which I loved and then when I found out this was made by the same people I HAD to watch it (if only to get over the void left by Go Ahead). This drama isn't perfect by any means and there are storylines that I didn't like but overall I really enjoyed how they tackled such a taboo trope. It was a good watch and maybe one day I'll rewatch it (but still skip the SL because nope I can't deal with his behaviour).
Well if He Mei can get a second chance, certainly Little Orange deserves another chance. In the beginning, she…
I don't hate her, I blame the environment she grew up in. When she was telling jianjian that the people her mother hated most in the world was jianjian and her family you can tell straight away anything she does know about these people is from her mother's biased pov and her brother doesn't talk much about them (i assume). But look how she is with ziqiu and working in his shop. She just needs people to see her as herself and not as her mother's daughter. I think the writers are going in the redemption direction for Little Orange aswell and we'll love her when when get to know her true personality.
Respecting the elders, being filial, is huge in Asia. The pressure from parents and other relatives can break…
Agree with this. It's so normalised that parents will literally disown you if you don't do as they wish. It's super obvious with mixed race marriages but also happens between different classes and religions.
I think she might have gone into hiding because of ZQ's father, and cut all ties to ensure he couldn't find her.…
Omg now that I think about it I do remember watching the earlier eps and seeing how she observed dad with ziqiu and thinking it was strange. Also if the thing with the bio dad is real it would make ziqiu's comment that no one chooses/ wants him all the more painful. Poor bb.
I know it's not her story, but I feel terrible for Xiao Chengzi (LX's sister). She lost her father and, in a way,…
Yes you are so right. It's easy to forget about her when we know and love the trio but she was a kid when we met her. She may have been spoiled but she truly loved her brother both before and after her parents accident. At least for ling xiao and the trio they had an actual responsible adult who cared and looked out for them. And let's not forget that they had each other and the love and strength that came from that bond. Ling xiao's sister had a dad that had just died, a suicidal hospitalised mother, a brother who she had just recently met who left his whole life behind and grandparents in another country. She has to watch her beloved brother get both mentally and physically abused by their mentally unstable mother. Idk I honestly feel so much sympathy for her. At least ling xiao can leave and go back to a place where he is unconditionally loved. She doesn't have that. She has to stay with her mother and take the role of a sole caregiver at such a young age without any support. At least ling xiao had her. I really do hope she has a happy ending too.
i feel so sorry for lingxiao , i'm afraid that his mom will try to commit a suicide and that will finally break…
She's definitely up to something. I thought maybe moving back to live with him but we know that she has attempted this in the past so she's definitely capable of doing it again. I wish she could wake up and she the damage she is doing to both her kids. She can't do anything about the daughter she lost but what about the ones left behind? Ling xiao feels guilty for her death and never got closure and the little sister has nothing to do with this past trauma.
Oh your very welcome! Im glad you enjoyed my article and it made you watch the drama!I agree it does give of that…
omg yes the play scene was so ridiculous but so funny, like you could see the writers/ crew didn't even try to make it make sense they just wanted to have fun and I thank them for it.
omg this is 100% my reaction as it is basically my first proper jdrama. I really really really liked the drama and the otp are so adorable!!!!!! If you find other similar ones please let me know!
Congrats on your first article! Reading this is what made me binge the whole drama + extras in a night (I haven't pulled an all nighter for a drama in a looong time!). I really love the way you recapped without being too spoiler-y and love the choice of pics which really piqued my interest! I watched the extras and really loved it. I swear it felt like it was from the early 2010s so I kept forgetting that it is meant to be set this year. Overall I quite enjoyed this drama and I have your article to thank!!!!
