Piri loves drama Jun 24, 2020
What I love a lot is the mixture of laugh out loud moments and then the heartbreaking and tearful moments. It's a little hard coming from a different culture (US) to see just how put to shame and the nigh impossible lengths a woman would have to go to to become a mother outside what's considered "traditional means" but I do hope for Ha Ri to have her happy ending!

"But today, for the first time, I suddenly thought maybe I was just running away because I wanted to."

Ohohoho. This show is goooooood. The chemistry is dripping out of the screen between Moon Young and Kang Tae. Like whoa. You know it really makes sense for them to likely work well together. She's a psychopath so she's neurodivergent and Kang Tae just works well with neurodivergent people because of his brother. And Kang Tae is such a good brother, though, going to the signing and getting him the dinsosaur book. It makes me upset especially seeing how those people treated Sang Tae at the book signing. Someone autistic isn't "crazy" and I liked how Moon Young handled it, actually. And Moon Young wants Kang Tae to be near her, she's the one chasing him. I like that.

This show is definitely bonkers but in a good way, for me. It is faaaar from perfect (Dae Hyun's friend could be dropped easily) but it's certainly entertaining. I wish I could spin kick the way Saet Byul did that lollipop out of that dude's mouth. She is definitely obsessed with Dae Hyun and he's an honorable boyfriend to Yeon Joo but he's such a goofball and she's fairly straight-laced I definitely see him struggling with that to come. The dancing at the end does show he's more compatible with Saet Byul. I don't really know much else yet, it's been two episodes, I'll keep watching, though.

First episode was good. It's kind of dark but it's what the story is. It seems to me that the stories Moon Young writes are her way of processing the way she is and not only that they seem connected to Kang Tae and his autistic brother. Like old childhood connections or past lives? She's truly the definition of a psychopath and Kang Tae knew that right off the bat and he's drawn to her anyway. Cinematography was beautiful, too. The opening story scene felt like A Nightmare Before Christmas.

금방 사랑에 빠지는 스타일 (geumbang sarange bbajineun seutail), shortened to 금사빠 (geum sa bba),…

Also the texts that popped up on the screen weren't translated on IQIYI. But it was according to two different translation sites that I'm sure I can't trust completely because each was different.

긍방 사랑애 빠치는스타 {'A star that falls in love right away' or 'A loving star'.]
and then it shortened onscreen to:
긍사빠 ['Gold' or 'Proud']

Just because I can re-type the hangul on my own doesn't mean I understand what it's saying. I'm planning on learning 한국어 over time but it's going to take some doing. So what's the correct translation, can anyone enlighten me?

So..... What do u guys think about episode 1? ?
I liked it. I like how at odds they are to start and how we'll likely see them go from hate to love. Well maybe not hate. But disdain? At least on Dae Hyun's side. He's already flustered from their first encounter from the years before that she may or may not remember and he goes from almost jealousy to trying to appease her because of her forwardness. When she told him to warn his girlfriend in advance that he was going to fall for her instead, haha! The one thing I was iffy about was his friend with the dreadlocks? And drawing the things he was drawing, he's questionable.

Ok the first scene is Dae Hyun saving a kitten from a sewer, he's a precious cinnamon roll! I actually love that Ji Chang Wook chose a normal role of an everyday guy. Saet Byul only looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you.

This was my first kdrama! I watched it in March and I have quite suddenly become intensely obsessed with kdramas (I've now seen around 40 shows now) and am even planning on trying to properly learn Korean! There's something really magical about CLOY to me because it was my first. And I've fallen for a few other shows pretty hard but nothing quite matches the way this one made me feel. No other show likely will , probably.

Person Woo Do Hwan
Looks like he'll enlist soon. T.T He went to get health check up for military service at the end of May. https://www.theasiane.com/2020/05/woo-do-hwan-prepares-for-mandatory-military-service-he-might-be-enlisitng-in-the-military-sooner-than-you-think.html
I was just thinking this, after learning about the 28 y/o rule and his bday is next month. So TKEM might be his last role until sometime in 2022?

My least favorite thing just in any show in general is miscommunications between people that could be SO EASILY resolved if people used their words and clearly said what was going on to each other instead of just assuming things or not openly talking about it. Communication is key!

I love him so much, one of my absolute fave Korean actors. I really am attracted to manly men like him and wow his voice gets me, too. But he's so different from his cold chaebol characters he always seems to play. I am trying to watch everything he's been in so far. Don't worry Sung Hoon, I love to eat a lot, too. No judgement coming from me.

ok, can someone please explain what's going on with the last scene? (ep 12: the conversation between granny and…
In June 1950 North Korea invaded South Korea and it was the start of the Korean War. I think this implies Head Lady Noh is from The Republic of Korea, not the Kingdom of Corea.
