adults who actually act like adults?? whale store xoxo: a comfort gl done right.
i went into whale store xoxo kind of cautious since a lot of people were saying it was boring, or that it wasn’t as strong as the other 2025 gls. but honestly, i ended up really enjoying it. a thai gl where the adults actually act like adults?? refreshing. no dragged-out misunderstandings, no evil fathers, no overly dramatic blowups — just two women who communicated, forgave, and understood each other. even manmook, who was supposed to be the antagonist, had such a well-done conversation with mae instead of being turned into a cartoon villain.this was my first milklove drama so i didn’t know what to expect, but i thought both leads were great. they were so cute together without being cringey, and whenever things leaned into cheesy, it was played off with humor — exactly what a rom-com should be.
now… the side couple. that’s where most of my point deductions come from. their storyline felt weak, and tonnam didn’t really have much depth outside of waiting around for chompoo. the dynamic was a little too much for me compared to the main couple.
the pacing overall was perfect — nothing felt dragged, nothing felt rushed. i also loved the way the drama built a sense of community. all the side characters added so much, and the show touched on real-life struggles like grief, debt, financial stress, single mothers, and even victim blaming. it slowly started to feel less like just a romance and more like a family story.
my only real gripe is the ending — i kinda wish they hadn’t gotten married. it felt a little unrealistic/too soon, but i get that they wanted a wrapped-up happy ending.
overall, whale store xoxo is an easy-to-watch, comfort rom-com with depth and heart. i’d recommend it to anyone who wants something light but still meaningful. 9/10.

too many subplots, not enough time.
i was really excited for harmony secret since lmsy is one of my fave couples, and i loved the idea of having a strong supporting couple too. unfortunately, the show tried to do way too much in too little time, and it ended up dragging the whole thing down. even the main plot (the auction) started feeling confusing by the end. even as a big lmsy fan, im surprised to see everyone giving this series a 10…the pacing was the biggest issue — they crammed in so many subplots that almost all of them fell short. it needed either more episodes or a tighter focus on just the main storyline. lmsy did an amazing job with what they had though. their chemistry is always off the charts and they still remain some of the best girl kissers out there lol. lillybelle were also really good, and i’d love to see them lead a series soon, but their development felt rushed. their reconciliation in the finale especially didn’t feel natural, and their relationship leaned way too heavily on mae & ai’s instead of standing on its own.
production-wise, no complaints. the visuals, ost, styling, and cinematography were flawless as always. everything looked amazing. but the finale? completely disappointing. the father’s sudden change of heart, the villain and everything he did, the bidding auction, the awkward “love scene,” the unnecessary second breakup ten minutes before the ending, and ai feeling like a totally different character — it was all rushed and unbearable at times.
my least favorite part was how many subplots went nowhere (mae’s father faking being sick, ai’s mother hiding, ai’s father threatening yam, ai’s initial assertiveness in pursuing mae). so much setup, zero payoff.
overall, harmony secret had great acting and flawless production but was let down by poor pacing, wasted subplots, and a finale that felt messy and rushed.

add this to the very short list of mature thai gl couples
i’ve been on a thai gl run lately, and us the series was such a standout. the storyline was engaging without being overly dramatic, and i have to highlight the acting — pam, rak, rak’s mother, and especially kawi absolutely killed their roles.the pacing? best i’ve seen in a thai gl so far. the slow burn was worth every second. the chemistry between the leads was immaculate — every sweet scene had me grinning ear to ear. i loved that the show focused on tender, meaningful moments instead of just rushing into love scenes. both leads felt like real adults in a healthy relationship: no breakup/makeup cycle, no jumping to conclusions, just two people communicating and facing hardships together.
the side characters made it feel like we were slowly building a family, and i appreciated that the finale didn’t go the “forgiving father” route. gmmtv’s production quality was flawless as always — the visuals, ost, and cinematography were all stunning.
my favorite part was the message: family isn’t about blood, it’s about the people you choose. the chosen family theme was so beautifully done. my critiques are small but important — i wish there was more clarity around the timeline (like how long pam & kawi dated, how long after did rak & pam get together, kawi’s healing, etc.), and i would’ve loved more focus on oat & nene. their dynamic had so much potential, but after the time skip it felt like we barely scratched the surface.
overall, us the series was heartfelt, beautifully acted, and refreshing in how it handled adult relationships. 8/10.

twists, chemistry, and too many men
i started watching affair the series just because i kept seeing it everywhere, and honestly it did not disappoint. the storyline was super engaging with plenty of plot twists, but the pacing felt a bit off. some moments that should’ve hit harder got brushed over, while scenes with no real impact dragged on too long.the lead actresses were amazing and their chemistry carried the show. i liked their adult characters way more than their high school versions (probably a good rep of dumb teenagers maturing), though pleng’s adult version still felt a little short on growth. as for the side characters… too many men lol.
the visuals were really pretty and the cinematography was well done, which made it even more enjoyable to watch.
overall, despite the pacing issues, it was a really solid drama. i’d recommend it if you want a gl with strong leads, pretty visuals, and drama that keeps you hooked. 8/10.

wheres the soljiwan spin-off?
the first half of nevertheless was genuinely promising. i appreciated its willingness to explore unconventional relationships and dive into the realities of toxicity in romance—something most dramas tend to romanticize or avoid altogether. the cinematography was stunning, the pacing felt natural, and there was even a slow-burn lesbian subplot that had so much potential. i was intrigued and hopeful.but then came the second half, and it felt like a completely different drama. things started to feel rushed, important emotional beats were skipped over, and the plot devolved into tired clichés without any real buildup. the love triangle became the main focus, and the second male lead was not only annoying but also felt entirely irrelevant. the same could be said for some of the side couples, who added little to nothing to the story.
that said, there were a few side couples worth caring about—and i honestly wish more time had been dedicated to them. especially soljiwan. they carried the show, hard. their friends-to-lovers arc was beautifully done, full of quiet yearning, emotional depth, and a refreshing sense of healthiness that the main relationship severely lacked. they deserved more screentime, more intimacy, and more bravery from the writers. honestly, every star i’m giving this show is because of soljiwan. they were the heart of this drama, and without them, there wouldn’t have been much worth watching.

disappointing
season two of love alarm was a big disappointment—even though i didn’t go into it with high expectations. the bar was already low after season one, but somehow, this season managed to lower it even more. the characters felt even more distant, the plot lacked direction, and the emotional moments didn’t hit at all. it felt like the writers were trying to wrap things up quickly without giving the characters or relationships any real growth or closure. the potential for something meaningful was there, but it just got buried under bland storytelling and forced drama. overall, a letdown from start to finish. Was this review helpful to you?

wasted potential.
i really liked the concept of love alarm—an app that tells you when someone likes you is such an interesting and modern idea. but the execution didn’t live up to its potential. the pacing felt off, and the story didn’t dive deep enough into the emotional or psychological impact of the app. instead, it relied too heavily on a love triangle with characters that were either unlikable, bland, or just downright frustrating to watch. even the main leads lacked chemistry and depth, making it hard to root for anyone. overall, it felt like a wasted opportunity. the idea was fresh, but the drama itself just didn’t deliver. Was this review helpful to you?

why i dropped my demon
i started my demon for the cast + hype (i love both the leads), and while it had its moments, it didn’t completely hit for me. the plot felt a little lackluster and predictable, and the shift between comedy and serious scenes was kind of jarring.the pacing itself was nice though — i’m always a fan of a slow burn/enemies-to-lovers type of vibe. the chemistry between song kang and kim yoo jung was amazing, and as a romance lover i thought their scenes together were super cute. side character wise, the sword star girl was annoying lol, but the butler and secretary duo had me laughing.
the visuals and music were beautiful as expected, but honestly once he got the tattoo back i started losing interest — it just got boring again. i ended up dropping it, but for what i did watch i’d give it a 7/10.
