She actually did have a relatively happy marriage with her husband. It may have started as a political union, but they eventually fell in love. So even though Ying Zheng never established an empress during his reign, they believe he doted on Fusu's mother.
I'm not sure about her brother, Mi Yuan, since the novel this drama is adapted from mixes real history with the author's own speculation, and a lot of the characters (including Mi Xiang) are pretty much fictional.. it's hard to tell until the drama airs huhu. 😅
does anyone know what kind of character Dai Luwa plays? is it sad??
She plays a Chu princess bound by a political marriage with Ying Zheng. For her, one side is her homeland, and the other is her husband and son. With her entire family killed and her homeland conquered by him, it's definitely going to be tragic.
I really thought Moonlight Mystique would be her big break, but she's still stuck in supporting and guest roles?! I don't get it... with her talent and beauty, she should be everywhere by now.
I really tried to give this a chance, but the production quality was so bad, it makes low-budget vertical dramas look high-end in comparison. The editing was all over the place, some scenes were cut off abruptly and some dragged on for no reason. Even the dubbing didn't always sync properly with the actors. Put all that together, and it was excruciating to watch.
Don't bother with this one if you're only watching for Neo and Wawa, they only show up for a few minutes across like 9 episodes.
same here, dare I say from one point onwrds they were more interesting than the main couple, to me at least
I might be biased since I only picked up this drama because of them, but they really nailed the tsundere wife and lovesick husband dynamic. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the second time they've worked together as a couple, which probably explains why their chemistry feels so natural.
I watched this mainly for Dai Luwa, but honestly I don't get why she and her partner were positioned as the main couple when the second couple had far more depth and a more compelling dynamic and arc than them.
Well, it's everything you'd expect from an idol drama...cringefest.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dai Luwa and Zhai Zilu are friends irl with how good their on-screen chemistry was, even the interactions among their friend group felt so natural.
Just wish the drama had been longer or paced better so we could've explored and seen more of their post-reunion relatinship, since (as everyone already mentioned) the ending felt rushed and slightly out of place.
i dont yet know exactly what you mean cos i just started ep1, but im legit just watching because i saw shots of…
I won't get into details so I don't spoil your watching experience, but basically there are two actresses playing the heroine. The first few episodes were played by a guest actress, who I personally think delivered a stronger performance and portrayed the character better. Still, it doesn't take away much, especially if your main draw to the series is the actual lead actress.
I've heard about this drama, but there's still no official confirmation, right? Last I checked, they'd already changed the male lead to Wang Hongyi. I'll be watching regardless... for miss Wawa over here.
I tried watching a few episodes after the body/face swap, but the new female lead just didn't do the character justice. Her performance is decent, but it clearly falls short compared to the first actress. I liked the premise, so lowkey disappointed.
