I feel like that Wang Shou didn't leave if he really did leave that is was because it was a mental state and was forced to do so by his family and doctors. When you have mental issues your rights get stripped from you. That could explain why he loves snakes more than people but he meet Chi Cheng and found another person who loved snakes too just as much.
