but based on the preview it will happen, no? he will transfer the power to her and clearly reincarnates as well or at least thats what ive gathered without reading the novel.
Honestly, nearing the end—around the last three episodes—I felt it was really flat. It totally crushed my…
I find this is the issue with 95% of c dramas. good start, entertaining middle and falling flat at the end. very few i could thoroughly enjoy till the last moment. This one with Chu Zhao dominating at then end few episodes, pffff, just why. literally nobody cared 🤔 I did like this overall, few good fight scenes, lovely confessions, yearning in between. I might not be expecting a lot anymore, but I think the chemistry between them was definitely worth watching.
I was just going to ask if I missed it in the drama - why did He Yan have to stand in for him and what was he…
Oh i see, ive clearly missed the cure by Xu (just hate thr dude so probably wasnt watching wholeheartedly), and i thought that the explanation He Yan knew about the sickly brother, etc was not entirely true. Like they make her wear a mask thinking that at some point the real Rufei comes back? But then why sending alone to the temple... and for the connections to the Wutuo - thats through Xu as well, but then they were chitchatting like they always mew each other when the leader visited him. Thank you for sharing the story, i totally missed it.
I hope they will explain the reason behind He Rufei's antagonism, maybe his past, his motives. It just feels weird…
I was just going to ask if I missed it in the drama - why did He Yan have to stand in for him and what was he doing in the temple for years? also, if he was in there for his entire life, how does he know the Wutuo leaders to the point theyre joking around and sorting out battles? I was thinking maybe he was a cruel child and they locked him away? I suppose there was more in the novel about him maybe?
Genuine question for those who did NOT read the novel - are you still enjoying the drama? Is the story coherent…
I've not read the novel but thoroughly enjoy this drama. One of my favourites so far this year. What you don't know, you don't miss. I never once read a book and watched a film which would live up to what I'd imagine, I dont think, so I can understand the novel readers disappointment, but it certainly does not apply to me. 10/10 for me, mainly for the chemistry, I'm not gonna lie, but I genuinely like the whole show.
24 episodes for part 2 is totally unnecessary. They should have wrapped it all up within the 40 episode quota an get a single release and we would have been done and dusted with it. Part 1 was soo good, compared to that part 2 hasn't added much, or not yet and we are half way through...
I've not finished yet, waiting for Viki to release the express episodes. my take on the drama though. I generally…
oh I think i judged early, i still have one episode to go, but after the awkward middle part of the drama, the last few episodes are actually quite decent. chemistry appeared (or came back i think right at the beginning when there was no romance, the banter was good between leads). I think as the pressure of kisses were off, the last few episodes are playing nicely, everyone seems to be getting on, comfortable around each other and.the main couple clearly living a couple life as theyre interacting, no intimacy but i dont think it's missing really. so I'd say the last quarter of this drama took me by surprise, overall was not that bad at all.
Did ZZW not die? What was he doing in the final episode? It was very bad story telling at the end, so we jumped…
I think for me it was not clear, it is not going to cause sleepless nights for me, to be fair I mostly even forgot as it was just not a story to stick for me... if you enjoyed, they reached the right audience..I do prefer clean story telling where you dont have to second guess what the earth was going on that is all.

I know I mistyped football just as I read it now, I realised... it was all about basketball... but anyway, I think it was a very confusing ending, horrible story telling in the last few episodes. Makes sense if you interpret that way, I just don't understand, why would they have an imaginary end, especially that the whole plot was quite realistic.
I've not finished yet, waiting for Viki to release the express episodes. my take on the drama though. I generally don't mind if there is kissing, kisses in Cdramas are mostly pecks anyway (mostly, there are some more heated dramas, which this was not ). What i think most viewers are expecting is the build up and the tension but apart from ep 19 scenes, I just didn't feel that at all in the lead couple. much more chemistry shown in the second couple and I practically been watching it for them. FL is very pretty and I think she is genuinely a good actress as long as the script doesn't involve romance. Like she is good with her dad, second ML, her friend, etc, even with ML at the beginning when there is not supposed to be much romantic elements. And it might be the writing, she's a cold and clever character and she brings that. ML was very good, but unfortunately him alone could not carry the supposedly passionate scenes where FL looked like a bunny that the tiger was going to eat. I will finish it now, but I don't think I'll ever rematch this.
Did ZZW not die? What was he doing in the final episode? It was very bad story telling at the end, so we jumped 4 years to the future, with a weird bridesmaid dress fitting, ML is back. Then we have a flashback explaining why ML decided to go abroad with bully girl and with flashback done she digs out her prom outfit and they gather all telling her stuff including the football team members who were not even close with her. Then the end. Wha? Did they cut 2-3 episodes at the end? never mind, second couple was worth it, wish they had more screen time.
The made the Chen Xi - Wang Yi couple and SMM - Qin couple more endearing than the main couple . What can I say?
I kind of didn't care much about the SMM -Qin couple that much as that dude had very similar unlikely doormat attitude than ML, waiting around 6 years for someone who walked out on him? also, the acceptance by her daughter was a but strange, whatever her father did, a little girl would not just switch sides. but overall better couple than the main, I agree.
It was not the worse, but quite a painful watch, dead boring. Beginning was ok, started off similar vibe to Lighter and Princess, majority of the story playing in the past, but way worse than that. Present times are total mess, way too much misunderstanding, non communicating to my liking. Then the final few episodes everything just gets wrapped up, but really no reason why then? it could have all happened way before. I dont see why FL is so desirable by all these guys, though seems ML just fell in love first sight and Mr Wang maybe liked her brain? who knows... anyway I'd give a 6 maybe as I liked the Chen Xi couple. Rewatch value is practically zero.
I understand that, but that was not my question. I am purely wondering if she ever did a drama with her natural voice and not a voice that sounds like anime. and i get this is her voice too, but when she's just naturally talking it sounds like a normal person (and I'm not talking necessary interviews she's doing as promotions, I suppose she then would keep up this cutesy act).
This drama lacked common sense and it might be due to the cut out episodes and weirdly placed together story line. Shen Shen and Dai Duo's relationship was way more mature and believable than the main leads'. I don't see how any adult male could fall for a woman acting and talking like a 5 year old (this was my first and probably last Esther Yu drama, so took a while to get used to her mannerism ). Her parents' 180 turn is also not likely. Unfortunately the second part was unbearably boring, only Dai Duo and Shen Shen and the OST managed to save it. It was weird though that her legs arrived in the post? and no adjustment, nothing just jump right into them and walk? hmm, I thought you'd have rehabilitation for months...
Is there any Esther Yu drama with her actual voice? I've seen some youtube clips and her voice is totally different when not putting on this cutesy act.
I will finish it now, but I don't think I'll ever rematch this.
