Is it weird that I can predict what I probably will/won't be interested in based on how much pink (or pastels/foliage) is in the promotional picture? The exception being Teiichi's Country (and Dansui, b/c what can you do with water, I guess).
Not a complaint, but it kills me to see Love Shuffle listed as a "classic". Not because I didn't…
Nah, I mean Love Shuffle *is* 8 years old. That's forever ago to some. To me it's relatively recent memory (like, I remember watching it as it aired) so hearing it called "classic" just makes me feel old. I wasn't trying to argue against the title or anything. I'll save my categorization misgivings for the mess that happened over in the "Best of Japan 2016" award.
Not a complaint, but it kills me to see Love Shuffle listed as a "classic". Not because I didn't like it but b/c it doesn't seem that old! I was expecting all 90s dramas.
My personal romance "classics" list would include Long Vacation (I'm one of apparently very few who did not care for Pride); Virgin Road; and Cheap Love. And that's just for the 90s.
Man, I don't really even watch K-dramas anymore but something (read: the gorgeous cast) drew me to this. I just watched the first 2 eps last week (yeah, it took me that long to notice it) and I was happy to find that it seems pretty funny too. I just hope it doesn't wear out its welcome with 20 eps (I get nervous at anything over 16).
It was one of my first dramas, although I never got past 8 episodes? I might just pick it up again. ^^
Honestly it went downhill for the last handful of eps (not uncommon for K-dramas imo). If I recall correctly (and it's been many years since I watched it), I prefer to think it ends around ep.11.
Love this podcast, and I hardly even watch K-dramas anymore! It's just fun to hear them talk about whatever…
Oh, I'm still into dramas, just not Korean ones! (J-dramas are my first & primary love in drama fandom) Your podcast is how I keep abreast of what's good (or at least entertaining, or ideally both!) in K-dramas nowadays.
Plot sounds terrible, tbh. "Woman desperate to get married meets Man not interested in marriage" is pretty unoriginal. I like Nishiuchi Mariya but she deserves better.
Love this podcast, and I hardly even watch K-dramas anymore! It's just fun to hear them talk about whatever they're watching. Hell, I even listen to the Audio Commentary podcasts without even watching the videos they're commenting on.
I laughed reading the paragraph about Trot Lovers b/c I was wondering if you'd reference That Trope that happened. It was the straw that broke the camel's back for me and I dropped the drama right there. I also don't mind that trope if it's done in a non-tropey way (if that makes sense) but I didn't feel this drama was doing anything interesting with it.
The "Best Bromance" results are proof that people are just voting for A Girl & 3 Sweethearts without considering (or even watching) the other options. Or perhaps they don't know what "bromance" means.
The results... (¬___¬"") Edit: I laughed at YamaKen in the Idol section... XD Why not Satoh…
Yeah I suppose the poll should have specified what is meant by "idol actor/actress" b/c people didn't understand the distinction and so it ended up being a meaningless subcategory.

This is *precisely* the thought that prompted my comment below!
