I loved TMBOP, although I was not fond of Dilraba on Ten Miles I still had high expectations for this drama...…
Not sure what you were expecting though. Reba is playing the exact same character as the one in ten miles, but with a different story. If you didn’t like her then, why would you watch when she’s the main character here? No hate, just asking.
As for expectations, I’ve been waiting for this drama for nearly 2 years. It was worth it! I also found FengJiu to also be pretty annoying, but I’m not mad because I know she’s still a teen right now.
Should i watch eternal love? Are these seasons related??
They’re supposed to take place in the same world. Eternal Love is mainly focused on Bai Qian and Ye Hua. FengJiu and Di Jun are also in that series, but their story is completely made up. This series is adapted from FengJiu and Di Jun’s actual love story from their novel. You can watch Eternal Love first, but you’ll have to forget the FengJiu and Di Jun story from that series when you begin to watch this one.
I can tell the people who are complaining about “filler” have never read the book.
FengJiu working in Tai Chen Palace and the time when she was a mortal are just flashbacks in the book. That’s why she already has a grudge against Zhi He when she comes back from her exile towards the beginning of the book and why she wears mourning clothes. Instead of just flashbacks, we get to see how young and in love she was with Di Jun as well as her growing friendship with Qingti that results in her mourning him for three lifetimes.
So for those of you who are complaining it’s slow and full of filler, you can shove the one star back up your ass and start reading the book.
I don’t think it’s fair that most people are comparing the Di Jun and the FengJiu of TMPB to this version. Many of you have put that drama on such a high pedestal that nothing will match it. You have to admit that the cinematography and the sets used in the Pillow Book are much better than the ones in TMPB.
Like most of you, I absolutely hate FengJiu when she’s acting like a lovesick puppy over Di Jun. But she’s only a teenager in their time. What young girl hasn’t acted like an idiot to get their crush’s attention? And I’m glad that she’s actually matured a bit in the latest episodes.
I think this is an unpopular view, but I like that we’re starting all the way in the beginning and working towards the major events instead of having flashbacks. That way, the character development will be much more satisfying (especially for FengJiu).
Most of the changes in actors doesn’t really bother me except for maybe Ah Li a little, but that’s probably because the actor in TMPB was super cute lol. This one is growing on me too.
The novel was such a good read and I’m so hyped for new episodes. I can’t wait to see a jealous Di Jun! XD
I really hate looking through comments for dramas anymore mainly because I always see people swooning over the male actor and constantly criticizing the female actress. Especially when it's "idols-turned-actor." Y'all really swooning over your oppas, but saying the females idols can't act, they 're ugly,...etc..It's such a double standard.
I'm really excited for this drama because of Hyeri, but all I see is how much people love Jo Jung Suk, but think Hyeri will do poorly. Obviously Hyeri is not on his level in terms of acting/experience, but it is because of these roles that she can grow to become an accomplished actress. She proved she can act with Reply 1988 and Entertainer helped her branch out. Having roles opposite of veterans such as Ji Sung and Jo Jung Suk is a wonderful opportunity for Hyeri to learn and improve.
