ep 17 😡: those brothers are beyond disgusting. How can you be so heartless to blame your own sister for your father's death just to get more money? Their fake emotions were so transparent it was hard to watch. It’s infuriating to see the person who actually cared for the parent get treated like a criminal by people who only care about the bank account. I need judge Shen to throw the book at them!
I am over the moon hearing that Beyond the Bar season 2 is finally in talks! The first season was a literal masterpiece—the character development was so grounded and the cases were actually thought-provoking. I really hope they keep the entire main cast. We need Lee Jinwook and Jung Chaeyeon back to show us what happens next with Seokhoon and Hyomin! Please don't change a single thing about the leads!
ep 9 was literally peak comedy! I couldn’t stop laughing when Wu Wangyan was all worried and scared that her sister was being mistreated by the Shilin Sect, only to find Lu Wuyi just vibing and giving orders to everyone😂 She really has those demon hunters shook! It’s so funny how none of them can have any peace while she’s around
This show is such a warm hug! It’s rare to find a legal drama that feels this heartwarming and grounded. The chemistry between the leads is growing so naturally, and I find myself looking forward to their interactions more than anything else. Can’t wait for more!
Just finished ep 7 and the storyline is finally starting to come together! I’m still a little confused about everyone’s true identities since there are so many layers to the characters, but the emotional core is definitely hitting me. I feel so sad for Lu Wuyi—it feels like she’s trapped in a cycle where she’s destined to lose her lover over and over again. The angst is real, and it’s starting to smell like a sad ending... I hope I’m wrong because my heart can’t take it! 😭🦊
anyone watching Beyond The Bar? how is this drama compared to that? case / story wise
I’ve watched both, and honestly, they are similar in 'vibe' but different in execution! Beyond the Bar felt a bit more like a sleek office drama with higher stakes and a focus on corporate vs. moral battles. Hold a Court Now, on the other hand, feels much more 'grassroots.' It deals with smaller, more intimate family and civil disputes that feel very personal. Story-wise, if you liked the mentor-mentee growth in Beyond the Bar, you’ll love this. But while Beyond the Bar sometimes felt a bit heavy on the legal jargon, Hold a Court Now focuses more on the emotional healing of the people involved. It’s definitely worth the watch if you enjoyed the 'human' side of the cases in the kdrama!
Currently on ep 11 and I’ve decided to really take my time with this one. I love the storyline so much—there's something so compelling about the 'second chance' trope and seeing the leads try to right the wrongs of their past lives. Also, can we talk about Song Mo? I’ve completely fallen in love with his silver hair, it makes him look so ethereal and fits his character perfectly.
Lately MDL has been ruining my mood. A show would be going well but somehow people always find reasons to hate…
Preach! 👏 MDL ratings on premiere day are becoming so unreliable because of this exact reason. People come in with pre-conceived biases against the cast or director and start 'hate-rating' immediately. It’s ridiculous to judge a 29-episode journey based on a few scenes. If you’re reading this and haven't started yet, ignore the low rating and judge it for yourself. The wait was worth it for me!
I cannot express how pissed I am with the cheating plotline… it made my blood boil! 😡 But I am so incredibly happy that Shen Mingying had the guts to stand up for herself. Seeing her choose her own dignity over a trash relationship was everything. And that revenge? Chef’s kiss! 💋 Seeing him get what he deserves, especially alongside the girl he was cheating with, was the highlight of these episodes. Go Mingying!
Is it just me, or is the tension between Shen Xiezhi and Qin Rui getting unbearable in episodes 13-14? Their interactions are getting so much warmer and more domestic. It’s so cute seeing her finally start to realize that their bond is becoming more than just professional. Looking forward to more of this development
After all the rumors and the long wait, Veil of Shadows is finally on my screen! 🌑 I’m so happy to say it was worth every second of the anticipation. The world-building in these first episodes is so intriguing and the acting is top-notch. If you’re a fan of Fangs of Fortune or My Journey to You, you need to be watching this right now
In the Chinese drama community, people are calling it the ‘palate cleanser’ of 2026. After the heavy intensity of Pursuit of Jade (which just finished its run), domestic viewers were looking for something light and fluffy. It's currently sitting near the top of the Mango TV popularity charts
This looks like it’s going to be the 'healing' drama of the year. I’m such a fan of Go Younjung’s work, and seeing her play a capable but anxious producer is so intriguing. The cast is amazing (Koo Kyohwan and Oh Jungse too?!), and the storyline about finding value in ourselves is exactly what I need right now. Definitely watching this as soon as it drops!
Is anyone else screaming? Veil of Shadows is finally here! 🦊 I’ve been waiting for this xuanhuan masterpiece for so long. The cast is a total visual feast and the story sounds so intriguing. I am ready to be emotionally destroyed by this one. Cannot wait for first eps!
Just finished episodes 11 and 12 and they were so good! You can really feel the relationship shifting now. The way the comfort is growing between judge Shen and lawyer Qin is so natural—it’s not a forced romance, but a genuine bond forming through their work.
I skipped this drama for the longest time because of all the conflicting opinions, but I’m so glad I finally gave it a chance! It turned out to be such a great decision. I loved watching their relationship grow and evolve with every episode—it was such a fun, emotional ride. If you’re on the fence, my advice is to just stick with it! All the little details eventually fall into place. Highly recommend
I’m actually very disappointed with this one. I was genuinely waiting for this drama to air, but the execution isn't hitting for me. This 'bouncing back and forth' romance style feels more suited for teenagers or young adults who are still figuring out the world. Once you’re in your 30s, you should have a better grasp of who suits you and how to communicate your needs. It’s hard to stay invested when the leads lack that maturity....
I’m finally giving this a try! I’ve seen so many people saying the original novel was incredible, so my expectations are definitely up there. I really hope the drama does the source material justice and doesn't disappoint
Story-wise, if you liked the mentor-mentee growth in Beyond the Bar, you’ll love this. But while Beyond the Bar sometimes felt a bit heavy on the legal jargon, Hold a Court Now focuses more on the emotional healing of the people involved.
