I don't understand why Koreans hate getting tanned. yang se Jeong's tanned look suits him good.
It's a beauty standard that's been woven into Asian culture for centuries. Since nobles could spend less time outdoors to make a living, they were able to keep a fairer shade of skin. It was a way to show off status as much as the clothing they wore. In many ways it's still the mindset that many Asian cultures have today. It stuck I guess... but yes, I agree. I think the tan look is a good look on a lot of Asian celebrities. ^ ^

I'm liking it so far so good. I was too old for Heirs. Didn't watch it. Didn't watch any high School drama ever…
I'll try again later then. Thanks!

I'm trying to get into it but I can't. :( I'll give it another try once it's finished airing. Maybe I'm too old to get into high school dramas anymore? Are there older viewers currently watching?

Title My Country: The New Age Spoiler
I love this drama but the more I watch it the more I can't understandI'm watching it in English, but English isn't…
There are definitely things we are not being told yet as the viewer. We know that Sun Ho had good intentions leaving Seo Hwi's younger sister alive... but then he tells Hwi that his sister was killed. It's almost like he thinks it's the best way to keep Hwi alive. He also thought forcing Hwi to enlist was the only way he could protect him as well. He certainly wants Hwi to hate him... and I'm wondering why? Hopefully his actions will make more sense in the coming episodes! ^ ^

I'm a part of that 18-24 age group (though I'll be 25 next April.) Personally, I really watch a show in its entirety if it's something I love. Hence the reason why I usually rate things an 8 or above. It means it reached my high standards and was enjoyable enough for me to spend 16+ hours of my free time watching it. Otherwise I'll drop a drama and never give it a rating. I don't like giving ratings unless I've seen an entire show. However, I will give lower ratings on a movie since they are shorter and easier to manage. I know I'm not wasting a good chunk of time if I finish it even if it wasn't my favorite.

Nokdu getting found out in the middle of a kiss was so unlucky, it'll be much harder to convince Yool Mul to keep…
Also the fact he was shirtless lol

Wow... what a crazy ending. It had me on edge the whole episode. The ending was really well done. The idea that Jong Woo was literally drove to insanity... and that Moon Jo will live on through Jong Woo was disturbing but... I can see it happening. I love the way they reveal how that happened piece by piece. Like an unraveling of the truth that comes full circle at the very end. That last scene whereJung Hwa see's Jong Woo in the elevator and mistakes him for Moon Jo... it was such a subtle and eerie way to predict the sorts of evils Jong Woo will probably go on to do. He'll probably use it as source material for his novels. Ahhh this was really well done. Definitely one of my top kdrama.

Another great batch of episodes. That war scene at the beginning of episode 3 was tremendous. Really one of the best I've seen in Kdrama. Also... the music is so well done. People often forget just how integral a good soundtrack is to a show. I am truly enjoying this drama. Can't wait for more!

Truly! I'm so impressed by the cinematography in this show! It's breathtaking and really immersive!

am I the only one who can't really get into this drama? :(
I think the general reaction is that people are enjoying it, but if that isn't the case for you, it's okay! It may just not be your cup of tea. I just enjoy that it is light-hearted and makes me laugh after a long day. ^ ^

I think what some people have a problem with is the language and tone that is used in this drama. The highly acclaimed…
As someone who doesn't speak Korean, this aspect went right over my head. I can see how it might receive backlash from Korean viewers more now.... Regardless, I'm still enjoying it so I'll keep watching for now! I also want to check out Tree with Deep Roots and Six Flying Dragons now!

He's genuinely beautiful. I'm sort of jealous at how good he looks as a woman! Highly recommend this drama so far... it's just a good time, haha.

I am enjoying this drama AND I think the main leads are doing a great job... am I the only one? Seems like there are a lot of mixed opinions in the comments... I'm usually one that is really hard to please, but I'm loving this one so far. It's interesting to see how different perspectives perceive things!

I think she's doing a great job acting wise. I'd give her another chance!

I never realized so many people don't typically enjoy Sageuk... they're one of my favorite kinds of drama! I love character development, and there is usually an abundance of it in historical dramas. But to each their own. This one is really unique though. So if nothing else, I'd stick around for the well-done comedy and the fact we get to see a male lead finally cross-dress. Those are two things you SELDOM see in drama, let alone a Sageuk!

I agree that I don't normally enjoy romance, however I do think it adds an interesting layer to the plot for reason's ClaudiaKdramaFan already mentioned. So long as it doesn't drag the story and adds to it, I'm always on board for romance. :)

Honestly... if I were Seon Ho I would have either ran away or told on my father. I... could never live with myself if I knew that I ruined my best friend's life. I really want to love his character, and I'm still hanging on to that feeling, but the fact that he is willing to kill others and hurt his friend is making it really hard for me to sympathize. I know he has a good heart.... but he's letting it get ruined by his father. :'( I realize, though, that him forcing an enlistment on Seo Hwi was probably the only way he thought he could save his friends life... I just hope he's able to redeem himself by the end of the series. Also, poor Seo Hwi. That boy's got it rough. Life isn't fair. :(

Episode 8 was incredible. My God... this show knows how to build suspense. Psychological thriller is really my absolute favorite. They get you to question your own humanity and what might make you tick.... I honestly think I'd go insane if I were in a similar scenario as the MC... it's so scary but also fascinating. Anyway, I'm sad this will end so soon. This has been a whirlwind of emotions.

I mean... aside from his voice he makes a very convincing woman. xD I'm so jealous of that flawless profile! The first episode had me laughing out loud. I especially liked that ending scene, haha. I'll be sticking around to see how this one goes.
