What he did to others extends far beyond just bullying. It was downright cruel and disturbing. Not to mention the sexual assault allegations... listen. I know he was a kid and many years have passed since the incidents, but some things are just inexcusable regardless of age. And for all these years he essentially got a way with it with not retribution for his victims. Do you think they were able to move on so quickly? I bet you many of them are still carrying around that trauma. Shame on that school and the adults in it who failed all those students. None of that would have ever occurred if there had been responsible adults who took a moment to notice or made themselves approachable for students who felt unsafe. I truly think he needs to step away from the industry and reflect. I can't even begin to imagine having a past like that and thinking it would be a good idea to start a career in the spotlight.
My heart is so heavy hearing this news. He was an excellent actor and well loved in the j drama community. My prayers and well wishes go out to his family, friends and fans. This is a difficult and challenging time for so many people. Please know you are not alone and if you need someone to talk to I'm here to listen.
He really is one of the best actors of his generation. And the things that never ends to surprise me is that he…
I totally agree with you! It's so easy to get enthralled with him when he consistently turns out impressive performances. And the thing with Do Kyung Soo is that he is this way in all faucets of his life. He excels at whatever he puts his mind to, whether that be his singing career, his acting career or more personal interests like cooking. I also watched his recent military musical and was thoroughly impressed! It's nice to know he is still finding ways to act and follow that passion during his enlistment. The wait for his return is getting shorter and shorter. Won't be long before we get to see him in projects again! Thank you for reading and for your lovely comment!!
Was this in fact based off of true events? If so my heart breaks. The fact that some humans can be so cruel... and for what? What do you gain when you are hurtful towards others? It's something I will never understand. This movie is IMPORTANT. If you are considering a watch, please do. It's a rare and realistic glimpse into the bullying climate in Chinese schools. I commend the film makers for making it (especially considering the initial push back from their government.) Bullying should not be taken lightly... at any age! I work as a school teacher so this is a topic very close to home and something I am fiercely passionate about. Glad I took the time to watch.
This is my kind of show. I adore slow burners and I especially appreciate when a show takes its time telling a love story. It feels more natural that way. Beautiful music and calming scenery. I'm along for the ride. ^ ^
This movie is in a class of its own. It's so loaded with double meanings and hidden messages that I'll probably have to watch it another 3, 4 more times until I can fully appreciate it. The pacing was spot on, cinematography gorgeous, acting A+.... really unique and thought-provoking plot with a social commentary that is relevant and needed... what else is there to say? There is a reason why this won Oscar for Best Film.
I don't think they're going to be playing high school characters... or at least I hope not! He is in his mid 20s and she is in her early 30s! Maybe that was just for the trailer?
