I have to disagree. I think episode 1 revealed exactly why she chose to head to the countryside. It's sort of a radical decision to just drop your life for something entirely new. The trauma she endures in episode 1 helped me understand her character and empathize. I do agree that the tone shift between 1 and 2 is a bit drastic though. It would have been nice to see her slowly warming up to country life a bit more.

Wahhhh. I really relate to this female MC. Same life stage, just trying to survive. My late twenties feel like a marathon, so turbulent, trying to find my footing and prove myself. Just today I was thinking about how quickly time is passing and how precious my family and friends are. How they are aging right alongside me. How I want to stop time. This show already feels so therapeutic. I definitely needed this right about now. Cried my way through the first episode, and now I'm ready to see Yeo Reum find healing and peace. Can't wait to keep watching.

Writing aside, I did genuinely enjoy this drama. If you consider it for what it is-- an action comedy, it delivers quite well. I was entertained, laughed and enjoyed the characters. It's an 8.5 rating for me. I liked the pacing and I never felt bored. Was it predictable? Yes... although there was that one twist at the end I truly didn't see coming! I'm glad it wrapped up nicely in 12 episodes.

Bad acting?? Where? I get that the writing isn't phenomenal, but I really don't understand some of the criticism (more equatable to hate) I'm seeing towards the cast.

I promise she will grow on you. She's one of my favorite characters by episode 10.

I'm so sad... I feel like they didn't need to kill off Park Jae Kyung. He was easily one of my favorite characters. His dynamic with Jin Jung was truly special. The scenes with the two of them were so beautifully done that I really started to believe in that father/son bond they were going for. How cool would it have been if the two of them had somehow succeeded together... and lived happily ever after? 😩 I hope Jung made a copy of that video... he better have!

I tried out the first few episodes. Too dramatic for my liking. I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop this one.

"Can I like you? 😲" "Well, I'll think about it. 😏" AHHH their chemistry is insane. I love the whole dynamic between them and just how much Shin A Ra has grown on me as a character! I know this show doesn't have romance, and believe me, I'd normally celebrate that, but I love these two. 😩They just work together so well. Please give us just a glimmer of romance before the show's end..! 🙏

One example that comes to mind the fact that Jin Jung's dash camera footage isn't used to prove his alibi on the night Lee Jang Won is murdered. He can't be in two places at once. They could have used the dash camera from the car Jan Won falls on to prove Jin Jung's innocence as well. He was standing right in front of it. And how exactly did they get Jin Jung's finger prints on the syringe that was found planted in his apartment? I really don't mind these plot holes though. Again, I just want to be entertained and I am haha.

Managed to watch this for the first time since I saw it in theaters back in 2018. I'm honestly still a bit traumatized by that ending. Wish it could have had a different outcome. I feel like there must have been other ways to deliver that emotional impact without all the main characters dying. Regardless... it is a masterpiece of a film. That's so plainly clear from the second watch.

I heard Kim Kwang Seok's "The Place Where the Wind Blows" today and was instantly reminded of Reply 1988 and it's beautiful final scene. This series feels like home. This show will always hold a special place in my heart.

Regardless of plot holes / unrealistic aspects this drama is entertaining. I just love that it makes me laugh and I can forget my worries for a few hours each week.
