it is adapted from a manga which has a good story and currently ongoing btw. the anime collected most of the smut scenes which made it look like hentai. but most bl manga/manhwa/manhua are adapted to anime using its smut to attract new readers. if you read the manga, this story focuses on them healing each other, adapting to each others preferences and slowly adjusting as a person to being someone in a relationship.
i was excited for this show as I was a fan of Shin Min Ah's My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. but i am not a fan of Lomon, really. :( considering this is hyeyoon's first drama after Byeon Woo Seok, i was expecting at least the same level with him. BWS bagged IU as his next FL and tbh, that's the upgrade he deserves so i'm excited for their drama too. Why can't Hyeyoon's company bag her the same level ML. She deserved better. Imma let this marinate and come back when more episodes are out. hopefully the writing works out.

the script of her dramas are mostly identical - enemies to lovers trope. she's always the strong, independent, happy go lucky princess who's forced to marry a baddie prince. even her moderns dramas are the same genre.
same thing goes for yu shuxin and zhao lusi and most cdrama actress/actors really. if you watch cdrama enough, you'll know the genre of the drama depending on which actress plays the lead.

as @eternalsummer mentioned, she wasn't mad that he reads the letters. more like he read it with someone else who was dense enough to blab to her about it aka the cousin. plus he doesn't even read her letters until her cousin and cousin in law raised the qiao flag in Boya. i also think him being a softie around his wife is normal as he wasn't even as strict with his generals. if anything, he only becomes childish when he's with the 5 men and her. anyone else including his mom, grandma and clan members, he's still ruthless. the script also perfectly explained her character. she doesn't even speak or do anything unless she is provoked. she has a way with words and uses that to her advantage and when that happens, people hate it because that's typically a sign of intelligence. that's literally how her character was written - "a smart girl". she can take being bullied but only to a certain degree. i like that about her character.
i broke my promise not to watch this until it's completed as most liu yuning dramas end up with him dying. i hope he lives to the end of this one. 😭😁 they are so cute. song zuer with those eyes and pursed lips.

this is why i'm hesitant to watch medical shows in kdrama. the scenes are more often so far from reality and may be taken as "real" by some of the audience. Hospital Playlist was the only one tolerable for me.
