She didn't killed him. She just stabbed him. I agree. They left too much to our imagination. Maybe like a less…
but considering her stance on preferring to be a widow, i think it's safe to say she killed him. i do think it could have been wrapped up a bit nicer (for both the stabbing and the second leads), but the stabbing satisfied me enough. what bothers me most is the secondary leads being treated like support roles rather than leads - and that occurred throughout the whole season. the detectives seemed more like the secondary leads haha...
i guess confirmation on whether he's dead or alive would have been nice, but i definitely don't think it was a fake knife like other people have suggested/guessed. she intended to kill him - whether he's dead or not, i guess that's up to the audience!
am i the only one not disappointed by the ending...?
she proved her earlier sentiment right: i'd rather be a widow than a divorcee.
we can gather that it was a REAL knife because of the sound of the knife when she stabbed him and his groan. if it was fake, would they have stood there longer while he was seemingly in pain? no, they would have laughed like earlier.
yeo joo has been very adamant that she won't stand for cheating. we know it stems from her mom's death. i don't think yeo joo, who is a very strong character, would put up with his cheating.. and as i said, we know she doesn't want to be a divorcee.
why would she print the disclaimer off, like she did earlier, and stab him with a fake knife, like she did earlier? that's not justice. she killed him.
my only complaint about the ending is that soo ho and mi rae received no proper ending. sure, one could use their imagination that soo ho and yeo joo did go to dokdo island together. but all we know about mi rae is that is filing for divorce. does she get it? if woo sung is dead, who will help her? i'd like the answers to their stories, but overall i'm not super upset abt it.
I feel like they poorly addressed the abuse she suffered and it felt like it was brushed off even rushed
both second leads are great actors and are both gorgeous with interesting characters (even if we don't know much about CSH). it would have been nice to see them in some sort of love line, but like you mentioned - romance isn't the main theme so i can understand why we're probably going to see everyone (judging the opening scene) end up alone. and you're so right - they went in on romance super heavy (to the point you're left thinking, "where did those feelings come from?"), then backed off, and now are back at it again. it's definitely the biggest flaw of the drama for me - how they treated the second leads. one we know a LOT about but we were told too late, and the other we know nothing about. both have feelings that came out of nowhere, yet will probably end up alone. like CSH went from being annoyed with her, as well as wary and suspicious of her... to suddenly having feelings for her? i think having 21-24 episodes would have been so beneficial to developing those feelings, for both second leads.
i'm wondering if KYJ knows and it's another misleading aspect, by the writers. they're very good at misleading us! we're finally gonna see the opening scene, so we'll find out how long she's known for then.
i'm also very curious what they'll do with mi rae? in ep 15, we saw she was sending gifts and bought his legal office and all of that. which made me think they'd turn her into a stalker or have her snap... but then they didn't show anything else. i'm really curious to see how they'll wrap her/their story up... do they do something in the finale and get caught? does she snap? i hope they don't abandon her story. i think it's an interesting storyline to explore, and they could potentially run many ways with it.
I feel like they poorly addressed the abuse she suffered and it felt like it was brushed off even rushed
super agree with youl! i don't have many complaints about the drama since i enjoy the plot. i think the plot and mystery were well done! but ALL the characters have fallen pretty short. we don't know much about them... we know nothing about HSW outside of his relationship with KYJ (and his cheating), nothing about CSH outside of being an agent, and while we've seen a lot about KYJ and KMR's past, they were poorly addressed and left til last minute. the romantic feelings btwn CSH and KYJ and KMR and HSW were also rushed (seriously, KMR is obsessive and hopelessly in love. if she turns out to go crazy in the last ep, it'll make sense. but if she's just that in love... how did that happen?)
i definitely think 21-24 episodes would have allowed them more room to explore each character thoroughly. especially the second leads - cause it makes no sense to call them second leads when their screentime varies from a lot to very little, and one has zero identity outside of being a defiant agent. it's my only complaint, really
finally, the puzzle pieces are REALLY coming together. we finally have answers to the secret prayer room and why BSJ was almost murdered years ago by mr. ma.
feeling terrible for KYJ after we've seen more of her childhood/teenage years. to watch your mother die and see who murdered her, then to have everyone think it was a suicide... that's terrible. definitely understanding more of her character.
the umbrella scene between soo ho and yeo joo was cute, but the writers have fell short with the romance. i find it hard to ship any pairing because the writers left the romance to the last minute and before this we mostly saw banter / her bossing him around... we still don't know anything personal about CSH either. but that was a super cute moment!
not sure what to feel about KMR and not sure what's gonna happen? i have no idea what she's pulling with all these surprise, anonymous gifts to HSW... and it looks like in the preview she'll be trying to go after her abusive bf with HSW. i do hope she gets her justice against her bf, but i don't want her and HSW together lol. part of me wonders if she's going to go crazy and snap...? or if she will end up in danger...
this episode answered a lot of questions. can't wait to watch tomorrow!
can someone explain the relations with mirae's family? like is that her brother that is controlling? and why does…
tw: sexual assault / abuse
i'm not sure what episode you're at, but episode 15 confirms he's her boyfriend or fiance. he keeps going into her bedroom to assault / abuse her - that's even more apparent in episode 15 too (spoiler if u havent seen it, but that's why she said 'no' when he started unbuttoning his shirt during a fight). hope this helped clear it up! we dont know much about her mom or dad, but they seem to be neglectful and not super caring about their daughter
Although 90% of the things are explained by now, I'm now only curious to know what will happen to mirae now that…
i have to agree with you on both characters! while i of course don't support mi rae being a homewrecker, i don't hate her either. perhaps that's my soft spot for yeonwoo shining through, but i also recognize she is a VERY damaged character (i mean... not only does she suffer from physical and sexual abuse from her boyfriend but she clearly has neglectful parents who are sitting by while she gets abused, and that's clearly taken a toll on her mental health as shown with her actions the past few eps). same goes for KYJ - while she of course has her own flaws, i don't hate her and i'm rooting for her healing and happiness! i think both are very complex and misunderstood characters and the only thing i wish we had more of from this drama is more time to explore these misunderstood characters. they are clearly very complex, but i think in between the "who-dun-it" mystery, the characters fell a little short (developmentally). however, it's still a really good drama! far better than what some reviews/comments are saying!
i'm surprised to see so many people disliking the drama bc i honestly love it so much... from the beginning til…
i agree! the only thing i have found myself super disliking is the writer's treatment of the second leads (yeonwoo and youngdae) which i elaborated on in previous comments. but that's it... i love the intentional misleading and i find it so funny and entertaining. plot twists keep dramas going... i know people keep saying it's rushed but if it moved too quickly, people would complain about that too...
i personally enjoy the drama! as with any drama, there are flaws and things i wish i could change. however, i personally really enjoy the pacing and the fact the writers keep you on your toes with intentional misleading! it's a "very who-dun-it" type of drama, but it's loaded with dark comedy too!
She's good, I watched Live on and couldn't believe she was the same because I really liked her in that drama.
she was adorable in live on! energetic but feisty, and KMR is the polar opposite of jaeyi.. her acting is really good!! even if her character here is pretty unlikable, i find myself still drawn to her scenes because her acting is really good!
I feel like they poorly addressed the abuse she suffered and it felt like it was brushed off even rushed
agreed. as much as i personally really like this drama, the biggest complaint i have is the two second leads are just... there. they show up when needed for the main leads, but their personal feelings and their backstories/personalities have been rushed or brushed aside. their feelings for HSW and KYJ respectively came out of nowhere... we knew they'd both be paired with them, sure, but KMR being hopelessly in love with HSW had no real basis since they had only a few interactions and CSH seemed wary and annoyed with KYJ for most of the episodes. we don't know much about CSH, and what we know about KMR was poorly addressed. i feel like this drama would be so much better had they introduced those characters fully sooner. in some episodes, they barely had screentime considering their roles as second leads - the support roles had more time than them. had they been given more screentime, there would've been time to properly address them and probably make their feelings more understandable.
until episode 13, i did not expect the housekeeper at all... so to have her be the killer was a really nice and surprising twist!
looks like mirae is gonna turn a little crazy... i feel bad for her, though. (slight tw) clearly not just physical but sexual abuse that she has suffered from her boyfriend, and it looks like her parents are not nice either. but it looks like she's deciding to be like them instead of trying to be better than them... i wonder if she's going to go after yeo joo or simply try to steal hsw?
the detective 'couple' is so amusing. i lowkey wish they were a real couple :( so adorable with the banter
i was going to be really upset if they killed off yeonwoo's character because i love her as an actress and want to see more of her, even if her character isn't exactly my favourite... so i'm glad the preview shows her alive! i do feel bad for her, though. her boyfriend (or fiance?) is obviously very abusive and tried to assault her, and it looks like her mother could care less about her, too.
i'm confused about the drug found in the police station's water. since yeojoo was concerned about her husband's allergy, i don't know if she was the one to lace the water... but then again, she did mention his allergy is mild and this show likes to be misleading so who knows. the housekeeper is suspicious, but i don't know if she's involved or if she's just super overprotective and the writers are purposely trying to make her seem involved.
at least it's confirmed yeojoo finally knows he's cheating! and it looks like she's about to take action.
i was right about her father last week! i knew he was a very important political figure, and it makes sense why they're protecting her.
From a trailer I just watched, it look like FL is engaged to someone older until ML comes along to try to protect…
i third "run on" - no love triangles. i also recommend "because this is my first life" - no love triangles and three main couples, there are exes/people that come and go but there's no actual triangle. it's a great drama with tons of depth and amazing characters, 3 strong female leads. "crash landing on you" is super good too!
on the list recommended to you by miss ivy, i also recommend "search: www" as it has 3 couples as well and 3 very strong female leads.
comedy with suspense / (light) thriller elements! it is constantly misleading the audience with what's going on, but it has a lot of comedic moments (more like dark comedy though). it's like a who-dun-it dark comedy!
okay, yeonwoo's acting as KMR this episode? so good! she is such a good actress and i am really glad that we got to see more range from her as KMR this episode. however.. i wish this plotline would have happened sooner? as many of us have mentioned, her pining over HSW seemed baseless considering their limited interactions. had she been in trouble earlier and ran into him in her time of need, her pining over him would make more sense than her just... being attracted to and heartbroken over a married man she saved one time...
the man that mr. ma was talking to about KYJ... is that KYJ's dad?! his last name is park (and we know that's her real last name) and he's a politician... KYJ hates politics yet decided last minute that HSW should continue with politics... is it for revenge/to mess with her dad?
also... maybe i'm biased in saying this since i love youngdae and yeonwoo, but i really think the writers should have thought about them having a relationship instead of KMR + HSW and CSH + KYJ. i usually don't care for age gap plots as long as both parties are adults and it's not a HUGE difference, but for some reason... i just can't get behind either of these couples. KMR + HSW had cute moments this episode with the ramen and the socks, but... he's a married man and their interactions have been too slim for me to feel anything strongly for them. as for CSH + KYJ, i also find their interactions have been too baseless for me to support them as a couple. i mean, their bickering has been fun but so far, we've just seen her bossing him around and him spying on her. given the preview for next episode, CSH + KYJ will have a *moment* together and i just... feel odd about it? i want KYJ to move on with a man to spite cheating HSW, but honestly i don't know if i think CSH is the right one to do so. had they done the abusive bf plot with KMR earlier, they could have had CSH and KMR met when he was staking out KYJ at night... i just think they would have worked better because both of the age gap relationships just don't sit right with me.
i am STILL confused on the BSJ case... the writers love to intentionally mislead so i don't know if KYJ is as strongly involved as they're hinting or not? there's something we don't know yet.
i wonder if KMR's abusive bf is gonna pull anything...? he is obviously very unstable and violent, so i wonder if KMR or HSW will be hurt by him in the next few episodes.
i guess confirmation on whether he's dead or alive would have been nice, but i definitely don't think it was a fake knife like other people have suggested/guessed. she intended to kill him - whether he's dead or not, i guess that's up to the audience!
