Idk if its just me but Jeong Ji So's acting seems awkward sometimes? I would be fine if it was just when she's…
i kind of felt the same way. i haven't seen much of her other work (except parasite) so i'm not sure if it's due to the character/writing/direction or if she's just not an actress who i will personally enjoy watching in a main role like this. it was a little bothersome for me as well. i found there were a few cast members who felt awkward but others who didn't, so hopefully it's just awkwardness from the first couple of shootings...? the plot is very good, so i'm hoping that it might just be off to a rough start and will find its footing soon

first episode was a little lackluster for me... probably an unpopular opinion. not sure if it's the editing (which was choppy with the back-and-forth) or other factors. some of the characters seemed awkward and i'm not sure if it was because of the director's instructions or the writing or some of the acting but i'm hoping these issues are just in the first few episodes because i really want this drama to be good.

i love that they're covering darker/shadier sides of the industry (like idol suicide and abuse from managers), so i hope it improves for me.

hurts knowing nayoung was probably thinking about pristin while filming for omega 3 :(

getting one less star from me because hanseo's death hurt so much... i knew it would probably happen but i hate seeing characters die right after finally getting happiness

The gold is now gone...so did the monks or Vincenzo pocket it??
last episode, we saw vincenzo meet with the monks alone. and then the monks were seen 'asking for alms' and carrying backpacks which appeared full. i think vincenzo asked the monks to help him transport and hide the gold

han seo squad was right! it was all a plot. so glad we were right with that.

and whoever brought up that han seo probably knew elizabeth holmes was in jail (from his studying lol) and thus wouldn't except han seok's offer, you win big time!

i knew when vincenzo went to talk to the monks they were probably asked to move the gold, and i knew them going out to ask for alms was actually them transporting the gold little by little. he definitely saw this coming

mr. cho laughing when vincenzo said he had to come back to feed inzaghi made me giggle lol

There is this confidence in me that he is just acting to save his ass from the actual psychopaths. Someone below…
yeah, i truly believe this is a plan. his facial expression after shooting him did not strike me as someone who successfully got rid of their enemy? and why shoot him in front of interpol - which would get him in trouble and prevent him from getting his goal (ceo)? he could have just lured vincenzo there and let interpol take him away, instead of getting his hands dirty. i think it was a plot orchestrated by them both.

I think so yah cuz they wouldn't show a sort of bromance scene for nothing and why would JHS shoot him when he…
exactly my thought. why shoot him when interpol is right there and ready to take him away? if JHS wanted him gone and wanted to betray him, all he had to do was lure him to interpol and let interpol do the job. he could have walked away with his hands clean, and get rid of vincenzo with no effort.

I strongly believe the ending is a plan. They just showed the start of a cute bromance a while back only to end…
i believe this too and i truly hope we're right. why would he shoot him in front of interpol if he wants to be a ceo so badly? he'd end up arrested/charged. that wouldn't look good for him. and you're right, if he wanted him dead - he'd aim for the chest or the head. and he looked shocked/upset after he fired the gun, like he didn't want to shoot him. maybe i'm looking too far into it, but his facial expression didn't strike me as someone who successfully killed/shot someone he hated

i would literally do anything for jang han seo to be an actually good person and he did what he did as per vincenzo's…
i really hope this is the case too. i was so soft for him lol... and also it DOES confuse me? like why would han seo shoot him when interpol was RIGHT there? he obviously seemed upset/shocked that he shot him. he could have easily let interpol take him away. shooting vincenzo would probably get him arrested anyway, and he wouldn't be able to become ceo then...

a little upset that hanseo turned evil again... wish the writers would have let their friendship actually happen
edit: hoping it really is a plot orchestrated by them together... it doesn't make sense why he would shoot him (in the shoulder, not the chest or head) in front of interpol

no i dont think that's gonna happenas per preview wont 2pm taceyeon say he want someone who turs into evil for…
i see your point! honestly whether he turns good or evil, i just want to see him go against his brother haha. i feel bad for the abuse he's endured, so even if he goes after him and doesn't turn "good" i'll be satisfied. he deserves to get some personal justice.

great article!

interesting that psychological dramas don't have a high desire for happy endings. perhaps it's because people mainly view 'psychological' as thrillers or horrors, but psychological is a subgenre that can be applied to any genre including romance. as someone who struggles with mental health issues, if i had taken this survey i would have voted for psychological dramas as ones i like to see happy endings in.

i dont consider myself someone picky about happy endings and there are many dramas that i have watched that ended bittersweet and i was at peace with that because it fit the plot. but when characters struggle with their mental health, i like to see happy endings. people who struggle with mental health already have to live with an anxiety about never being happy or accepted, so when we look for a drama we can relate to, it's a kick in the face to have them end up unhappy or dead. sometimes we just want to see somebody like us who ends up okay.

same goes for when characters die after struggling and finally being happy...

other than that... i'm not too picky about happy endings as long as it fits the plot. some characters die for no reason, and that can be a turn-off to a drama. but if a death or a break-up or any other tragic event makes sense, it doesn't matter to me even if it's heartbreaking. if it makes sense to the plot and fulfills the plot, i will make peace with it despite the heartbreak.

that being said, i think the biggest flaw with sad or bittersweet endings is they sometimes feel incomplete. for instance, memories of the alhambra's ending was bittersweet and after i pondered on it, it made sense to me and it fit the overall mood of the drama. i made peace with it. but i had to dig and dig and analyze it until i finally made peace with it... many people are still bitter about it and i understand why. i think having an ending that feels incomplete or doesn't make sense is more upsetting than a sad ending that makes perfect sense. if we can understand why the writer decided to end it like this and we can understand their intention, it becomes easier to deal with.

Actually there are many people who aren't any "Vincenzo" actors fans but still enjoy this drama to the fullest. One…
you definitely should! she's an incredible actress. be melodramatic is one of the best dramas out there. it's very "slice-of-life" but the characters are so rich and the cast play them beautifully. her role in "after my death" (movie) was highly praised too, she won 6 awards for her role in it :)

Me too. Somehow I like him..
i think he's somewhat likeable because you know he's not... pulling the strings. he may be committing these evil acts but he's not orchestrating them... he's a puppet and from what we've seen, he's a puppet who is VERY afraid of its master (his brother). i would like to see him "escape" his brother and get revenge on him!

i haven't watched the preview yet myself haha but previews can be misleading. i just think it'd be interesting to see him turn against his brother. it was really obvious in ep 7 when they were drinking that he definitely feels a lot of hatred towards his brother... so i would like to see him try and take down his brother. but maybe thats wishful thinking - if the preview is correct

can vouch for this! not a sjk fan (no reason why, just haven't watched enough of his dramas to really get attached), but i have been a jeon yeobeen fan since be melodramatic and her films (highly recommend anyone who hasn't watches those. her character in be melo is amazing)

i will say this isn't anywhere near a *top* tier drama to me - it reminds me a lot of lawless lawyer which i enjoyed so sometimes i find myself reminiscing on LL while watching, but i find it entertaining and don't really find it as boring as people are saying it is. but again, it comes down to preferences and what you're interested in - some people prefer fast-paced, action-packed plots and don't like episodes central on characters and relationships which i don't mind at all. i personally find it entertaining regardless of whether or not there's action present, and i'm intrigued to see what happens with the villains. the director has some questionable choices, but i definitely am enjoying it and don't have too many critiques thus far.
