gosh, I am so happy to see all these gushing on this thread even now. I am the same way, when I watch drama after drama which is full of nonsense. I always come here to this drama for a fresh breath. I have watched it thrice and I’m here for the fourth time. I came to see if there were any fresh inputs and I find you all. Feeling all refreshed once again
I am obsessed with this drama. Reach time I "taste" a bad drama that went sour after a few bites (eps), or a drama that read great on the MDL brief but was such a turn off right at the beginning, or when I am twiddling my thumbs dropping terrible drama after drama.. I come to take a fresh bite into this.
It's my drama elixir - one of my elixir bottles that rejuvenates me and refreshes me.
And each rewatch I discover little things that I missed or didn't connect the dots...
This is my 4th Rewatch.. In 3 years I - think.
The FL and ML are my all time explosive chemistry couple and had the hottest sizzling kisses that blew up the screen ever!!!
It rips through each time. The buildup is so potent!!!
FIRST : What a waste of Ming Hao - especially so close at the heels of a STELLAR performance in Love in the Clouds (weeping howling in grief for his wasted skills in this drama - which actually MAY HAVE BEEN SOOOOO GOOD)
No spark in the direction. (Therefore I concluded that the director is the main culprit that brought the drama down into the pits) .. which led to the following problems : ~ Actors are delivering subpar dialogue and acting. ~ So much hamminess is slipping through
~ No chemistry either.
SECOND WHAT A WASTE OF A SUPERB theme and exploration of GREEN TEA MAKING. Delightful and YET ...
THE LAZY scripting (promising plot led astray by half baked development of chanarcaters) ~ Support roles are all 1 dimensional.
~ Utmost unimaginative. Even with HIGH END budget (you can see in the expensive camerawork and lighting and costumes and sets) and decent plot. Badly executed inspite of all the resources at hand.
The worst was the meaningless OST. Forgettable and absolutely annoying and grating detracting and getting in the way.. As terrible and grating as traffic noise.
