Because season 1 ended right before COVID so it took time longer than usual
I LOVED the subtle flirty friendship Fan Xian has with Female 9th master - Dou Dou; the affectionate warmth and kindness he feels towards the Spy Si Lili and of course his total enthralment of FL.
It gave his character a depth and roundedness that was far more enjoyable and juicy than if he was left at : straight laced uncomplicated un-swayed guy.
Just me feeling.
So of course it's not romance focused but it adds that flavour and tension that only a female character entwined with the main role can inject.
However unlike Arthdal Chronicles that had such a STRONG female presence and aura.. An equal strength and power mover woman (women) JOL focused solely on men as the power brokers. Not that it's not as enjoyable.. But often u found myself longing for the solid female foil entangled with the ML.
TTEOTM and LLTG pulled that off SO WELL.
Anyway I am yet to start JOL2. Holding off to decrease the gap from JOL 3 release 🤣🤣🤣🤣
HOW thankful am I that I didn't become trapped by the drama 5 years ago!!!
But seeing that there is Season 3 I am wondering if I should watch Season 2 now... Or painfully drag out at least a year so the wait for S3 won't feel like an eternity??
BUT I hope they have better luck than EVER NIGHT.. cast wise...
Arthdal Chronicles was also a tortuous wait for those who watched it early... I got lucky - so lucky that I watched AFTER all seasons were out.. In fact I had started the show a year or more after the release of S3.
No luck like that with JOL for me.
"I'm happy and unhappy" (anyone can find me a Du Fu poem that captures this emotion?? 🤪) that at the time I finish S1 I can dive into S2; but with the knowledge that S3 hasn't even fixed its full cast yet.
Fan Xian will hit 40??
