Oh, I understand. If I had studied the book in class and then the movie had come out, I might have felt that same excitement too. And I think that last sentence you mentioned probably applies to me as well. Or maybe I liked it overall, but maybe I didn’t like the ending as much. I’m not sure.

I still don’t understand why they keep remaking this story again and again. It’s not even that good. I couldn’t feel the love in the 1988 version either, and I never understood why the male lead would choose Pollyanna, this typical angelic heroine. So I’ve always stayed away from the 1999 version, never wanted to read the book, and avoided all the other adaptations too. I’ve never been excited about this new adaptation, so I’m just going to pass on it.

At first times when I watched Ruipeng he doesn't come to me that classic handsomes we almost see everywhere but he was very sympatic and now I think he is cute.

Ok. First, thanks for the reply. I had looked up the writers and artists before, and although their styles felt similar, they were different creators. After checking again, I found out they were works from the same company but written by different authors, and it turns out they all share a universe called Blue String.

Why is it related to Study Group? They don't have same writers etc.

I agree some of them. Every time I watch Asian dramas, I feel like someone resembles someone else. And it’s not limited to Asians for me — I even think some Asian celebrities look like Western celebrities too. Maybe I should do a list too :D

It started off really strong, and I’m enjoying it so far. It looks like it’s going to be a mature romance, which is exactly what I’m in the mood for. The characters are smart and well-developed, and the political elements don’t feel like superficial fillers like in other romance dramas. I hope it keeps this up.
