This was a cute, light-hearted drama that served me ample serotonin to balance out all the more serious and mellow dramas I've been watching recently. Highly recommended if you just want some fluff in your life!!
A little off topic: It takes a lot of courage to touch on such a taboo subject. Not everyone is brave enough to…
Absolutely! Props to the writer for providing for more mental health awareness, especially in Korea. Of course it's not perfect, but I love how they're portraying it so far. I hope dramas like IOTNBO and also It's Okay, That's Love (another amazing healing drama that deals with mental illness) inspire more conversations on this topic moving forward.
Does anyone think that this has the potential to go past Goblin on MDL ?
In terms of popularity or ranking? I'm not sure if we can beat Goblin for popularity because it was extremely popular when it was coming out and now has 80k watchers on MDL (that's a feat in itself). As for ranking, I'm fairly confident it'll have a higher rating than Goblin on here (8.9 if I'm not mistaken) if the show continues to have consistently good quality.
I am 90% sure Park Ok Ran is not MY's mom, it would be way too obvious. She seems to enjoy playing the "role" of MY's mom a lot more than she actually seems to be MY's mom. The scenes of her constantly reading her books and smirking as she leads on MY's dad make me believe she's could be an obsessed fan of Do Hui Jae and is now vicariously living through her life. She could have an attention disorder which is causing her to do this, or maybe a delusional disorder where she truly believes she is Do Hui Jae. There could be a lot of mental reasons why she could be doing this, and frankly, this would be a lot easier to figure out if the drama just tOLd us why she's in the mental hospital in the first place LMAO Also, can someone please explain to me the theory behind how the head nurse could be MY's mom? I've seen people talk about it but I can't wrap my head around it
One thing I can't stop being angry about is how unprofessional the staff at the hospital are. First they do nothing when MY gets choked on the ground by her dad, then they stay silent when A Reum's ex-husband literally runs out of the building to harass her and MY as well (seriously? they just stood there and watched as he was threatening and PHYSICALLY hurting A Reum and MY??) and now they not only gossip about their coworkers' personal life but they don't make any effort to de-escalate the huge fight that happens in the lobby? The LEAST they could've done was direct everyone back to their rooms but they continue to be useless. Ugh I'm sick of all of them for being so incompetent how did they even get their licenses
I'm so afraid of the ending. I don't even know how I want it to end. Of course I want a happy ending, but you…
im hoping this drama will either have a bittersweet or hopeful ending at least. I can't imagine everything being perfect at the end so i hope we can get something that doesn't totally shatter our hearts LOL
I absolutely love the drama so far and I have some thoughts!!
1. I really hope we see some character arcs involving Ju Ri and the CEO because right now they aren't really adding much to the story/plot? I wanna know what happened with Ju Ri and Moon Young when they were children and why Ju Ri hates her so much (apart from MY taking her mans lol), and I hope she finds happiness with someone who will love her for who she is. As for the CEO, I get stories have comic relief characters but I hope the guy does something different than following MY constantly. Jae Su deserves some love too! The show does have 8 more hours of content so I'd like to see the writer do something with these characters!!
2. I really don't understand how people can think the climax has already passed... We still don't know the whole butterfly story, what exactly happened to Moon Young and Gang Tae's moms, the hospital mystery about who keeps tormenting MY's dad and if that person is MY's mom, and we haven't gotten to the crux of MY and GT's healing at all! Plus, there could be twists we have yet to know about as well. Also, regarding MY and GT's healing story, I wonder if the drama will touch on getting the neurodivergent main characters actual therapy bc I can't imagine love healing all their problems, even though it does serve as a really important support system for getting better! We still have a lot to cover, and I trust the writer will execute them amazingly as they have done thus far.
P.S. (it's okay that's love spoiler) I wonder if they'll do something similar to it's okay that's love where the main character gets admitted to a mental hospital bc his condition worsened... much to think about.
They both mean the same thing, it's just that I've been using the wrong name for the show rather than the official one for some reason LOL it indeed has mixed up the hashtags on twitter as well... oops
Oh my gosh... I've been watching since day one and I JUST realized that the title of this show is "its okay TO NOT be okay" and not "its okay NOT TO be okay" how did I not realize until now I-
This drama is making me have cherophobia. It just keeps getting better and better such that I am so so so afraid…
Omg same I'm always afraid of that in the back of my mind because of just how good it is already and because of how many dramas kinda get diluted in the middle :"(( i have faith in IOTNBO though because each ep just keeps getting better!!
