I've never heard of a vigilante going after a mafia boss or someone like that.

I've heard of plenty of vigilantes organizing gangs and going after immigrants, lgbt, or mentally disabled people they found on discord and tricked into becoming "pedophiles".

These vigilantes are just bunch of cowards who want to feel powerful because they were bullied at school. They should enlist in the police or something.

I can't think of a single incident when vigilante ever did anything good. Unless we consider wartime partisans vigilantes, or people who committed political assassinations against asshole leaders, like that one brave man who shot fico but I never heard of people calling that vigilantism

If you attack a politician or an extremely wealthy person, who will never be punished by law because they are law, you're a terrorist. If you attack some poor fuck who just got out of prison, you're a vigilante. Crazy how it works, huh?

I see. I just assume they do, or at least it's taboo, because the movies, anime and video games I played never mention these things. For example, koei's "samurai warriors" never mention korean war, and I can't recall any mention of events such as rape of nanking or occupation of south east asia in any japanese medium either, but then, maybe it's simply not a hot topic in society.
