there was no psychological warfare between father and daughter there, and the daughter wasn't a killer or a bad person at all. finally, the main plot point of that one was the mc being on spectrum of autism, and it was hella well portrayed too. Here we have the opposite: a genius profiler, not a guy who can't keep eye contact with people.

it's just a popular premise. check out japanese movie "world of kanako" or even recent k-drama "perfect family" for something similar
