When I saw how the Korean letters of the title were designed I thought it might be a Korean version of the weird Japanese horror movie „Uzumaki/ (Spiral) Would be interesting to see that.
I totally relate. I liked the doctor tho but they overdramatized his brtohers story with including a love triangle between them too ( and I was happy at first when I realized that main story has no love triangle) his story could be a whole different drama. Maybe if they didn’t use so much screen time. For the side story, they could actually finish the main story properly and not cramp it into the last 2 episodes.

I was extremely excited when I first read the summery, this sounds just soo interesting but then I was unsure if I should raise my expectation raise my expectation that high because the execution can ruin the story. And then I read your review and got it, I still will watch it but now i'm not in danger to be extremely dissapointed since I know the esxecution isn't so good :)
If this whole drama really focuses on the sin finding the truth behind his father's death only then I won't watch it. It's already obvious that father agreed to take a rich asshole murderer place to get his son the heart... So boring. I really hope there is more to it. I hope the son finds the truth pretty early and the rest of the drama is really about finding a way to make the real murderer confess.

But they state in the drama that all the characters and event are fictional. So even if the names are based on real kings I bet the story will end alternatively and not follow the history at all since they already said it's fiction so it would be inappropriate to follow history :)
I eneded up dropping out this masquerade! I couldn't stand the romance in it and the politics and all the shit…
Haha I agree that most sageuks are very slow paced that's why I usually drop them or don't even start them but this one is most fast paced I've seen in a while XD I think you're probably just not the type for historical dramas overall
I feel like a lot of 16 episodes historical drama usually fall short because they lean more on the romance/fluff…
Yeah these ones you mentioned aren't really presenting a real historical drama feeling. There a lot like modern romance dramas with historical setting rather light hearted and made for a younger audience or the ones who don't enjoy sageuks while this one is rather thrilling with a good political plot and full of real struggles and dillemas :)
Would be interesting to see that.
