Yes, well I think I used wrong words when I said 'spin off'. What I meant is, that it feels like I'm continuing watching JoF but with different cast. Thats my feeling & it won't change :) And you're right about how many ancient Chinese dramas fantasy or not have these similarities and thats why I would not call Eternal Love ''unlike anything" :)

Its not at one part for me, the similarities are reoccurring.
eg. 1. Master/Dicipline
2. Pretending to be a man
3. She isn't a simple discipline but has more powers
4. still doesn't do anything (weak/naiv, tomboyish)
5. They go to war where her master is heavily injured/'dead'
& she has to give her blood to him
6. He disguises himself as another(simple) man and lives a simple life with a her in hut for a while
7. she has a young creature under her wing who also is a mischievous girl
8. She becomes blind
9.The two male lead characters are also pretty much the same (cold, emotionless, uninterested in romance (well at first)
10. A goddess wo grew up with him is the love rival
And yes, the main story line is also the same. A love between a higher ranked and a lower ranked can't be. The girl suffers the most + second lead comes from the 'evil' (ghost) realm, is misunderstood by everyone & end ends up doing everything for her.

2 questions for those who know more.
1. So she travels from the present to the past at the begging of the Dra a like in BBJX or somewhere in between f the drama? (when she 'resets the universe')
2. Will Xu Joe/Yuan Zahn be the a villain throughout the whole drama (fron start to finish) or will he change in the middle (again when she resets the universe)?

I wouldn't say its 'unlike anything in the fantasy romance genre' it does feel like a Journey Of Flower spin off, I sometimes call it 'Journey of the Fox' XD but it is pretty addicting :) (currently watching)
