did anyone else find it uncomfortable that she wanted to marry him off and even start a family (have kids?) while he is still mentally 7? like i get shes doing it since shes going to die but MARRIAGE instead of finding a loyal and reliable caretaker? when he doesn't even understand what that means(clear from the whole samshik is my financee thing) . the whole thing was a mess, the reasoning that "he will be mature after marrying" applies to grown men who aren't responsible. a 7 year old cannot become mature because you marry him off lol...then not telling the girls about his condition in advance then being shocked or sad that they don't want to be a caretaker? and does kangho's consent not matter at all? imagine he gets his memory back and finds himself married to a woman he didn't consent to marrying?
the way youngsoon thinks she has the right to make every decision in kangho's life under the "i did it because i care for you" justification needs to be studied, first deciding his life for him, deciding his relationships, then deciding that he should let go of the life he has lived for 35 years now, and now wanting to "marry him off" while hes mentally a kid and unable to comprehend what is happening
i also do get that this is a plot device to motivate mijoo to confess about the twins, but it's still uncomfortable that the mom and the villagers even thought this is a good idea
probably the 37283th person saying this, but gu seung-jun shouldn't have died, it would be a more fun and fitting ending for his character if we saw him with seo dan at the end in russia and he faked his death to get away from seri's brother, i was hoping that would happen, him dying was a little unnecessary and even rushed, a shame since the rest of the drama was written very nicely
i don't think she deserves to be defended, i wish everyone would just agree that the way she treated kangho throughout…
those are two different things! i do hear her out, i understand her trauma and desperation and i understand why she does whatever she does. when i said she doens't deserve "defending" i meant her actions, one can hear her out and try to understand her and sympathize with her, but she still was abusive to him
Defending young soo is getting harder and harder every episode lol
i don't think she deserves to be defended, i wish everyone would just agree that the way she treated kangho throughout his life was horrible, even though she had good intentions and her own reasons
I'm noticing a pattern of Young Soon doing stupid things in the heat of the moment. First early on when she hit…
exactly. i think it's because of her trauma that shes really panicky and sentimental and has extreme reactions out of anger, also seen in the way she crazily started hitting young kangho in the police station and it's only gotten worse after her cancer diagnosis as she thinks shes running out of time i hope this doesn't ruin kangho's plans too much
im happy most people agree she shouldn't have burned his files. if she thought about it she would realise that hes already on the antagonists' radar and burning those didn't save him, just erased the evidence he worked hard to gather all these years
also i understand why youngsoon is against kangho seeking revenge, she doesn't want her son suffering or being in danger, but it feels unfair to kangho, whos whole life was dedicated to this. whether or not she wanted him to uncover the truth about his father, he belived that's what she wanted. hes a grown man who chose to do this. he chose to seek revenge for his dad as both his mom and his life was destroyed due to it. his mom is traumatized and his childhood was destroyed as a result, it was so sad to see grown kangho navigating life just looking for an answer for why he had to go through all this, and he finally found it i understand youngsoon doesn't want him to die, but denying him this at this point of time is unfair to kangho, whos 35 years were spent chasing this. i wish she waited for him to get better/hid the files somewhere instead of destroying them because after 35 years she realised that seeking justice/opening up his father's case can lead to dangerous things for her son
when you're mad about something or feels unfair about something it's easy to think that you can do everything…
that makes a lot of sense yes😭 her intention must have been to uncover it also but now that she can actually see the dangers the antagonists pose she wants it to end
Nah how does this drama gets better every ep? Its supposed to decline around ep9. This is so good they showed…
yes that was a little maddening because if she thought it through, she would realise that he has already involved himself with the antagonists enough to endanger him, so all she did was ruin some of the evidence he managed to collect over the years and didn't actually save him from anything, but i guess she was too worked up and sentimental to think then
She wanted him to have power so he doesn't get killed
they were not at a risk of being killed, she wanted him to have power so he doesn't get ridiculed and treated badly but there are many other jobs and positions that give you that, im just wondering if they clarified why it had to be a prosecutor of all things
nah she’s just afraid that they might kill her son that’s why
no i get that, im just wondering how she hadn't forseen this if she always wanted him to be a prosecutor to uncover the truth. but i guess it must be scary for her now that it's actually happening and that's why she wants him to stop and be free
ep9 was good, it's crazy how dohyun continues to amaze me with his acting every episode still, i cried with him in the scene whete he was leaving mijoo
also im glad they revealed his pov early on as many people actually believed he killed the mother and child😭😭 im sure he had a plan to get the innocent guy out later on too, it was stupid to do that then as ceo song would just get both of them killed. he secured the dashcam footage so im sure he wanted to reveal it later on
I completely agree with you. Just because Youngsoon's actions are motivated by "good intentions", it does not…
no exactly because why was the person arguing with me saying "he grew up fine so it's okay" like not at all😭😭😭 i understand her desperation and reasons but i hope at the end they get to have an honest conversation about this with each other rather than never addressing her ways again once he's recovered
im so glad more people are now openly talking about youngsoon's character after last week when someone was fighting me for simply pointing out that shes abusive😭 the writers obviously take the "bad" part in the good bad mother seriously and have made it obvious that her methods aren't right and her parenting affected kangho negatively.
this is a kdrama so i hope people aren't getting mad saying we are trying to *cancel* a character or anything.i still like her and want a happy ending for them but if you're trying to fight people for simply pointing out the bad aspects of her character along with the good ones — which mind you is the core concept of this drama, you're missing the point.
what she does can be disturbing and hard to watch many times for many viewers, especially victims. in conclusion i understand her motives and i understand her desperation and i want the best for her. but also none of that justifies what she does. hope that helps
I also dont think he's faking it, he would've thought they would just kill him off. He couldn't have known he…
exactly! if he was faking it he wouldn't be waiting around for his mother to find everything herself also, as OTS gets closer and closer to becoming president. he definitely thought he would be killed or severely injured while writing that
this will be one very long week😭 i am so happy we are finally getting to see kangho's true intentions as they would explain many things! i believe he must have found out about his father around the time he broke up with mijoo so it would explain why he did that and hopefully also about that mother and kid, it had been bothering me for a while how many people do seem to think he killed them, i don't believe that for various reasons but hopefully we will get some insight about kanghos original plan in the next episode. i don't think he would have seen /this/ happening exactly so i guess he knew about their plan to kill him. he probably left something that can be used against them even after his death
also i personally do not think hes faking being a kid but some bits might be coming back to him starting from ep7
