Yes, imo it is more Leo made TTJ and Leo made TTEOTM shine. That's why he was in since the beginning. Some other casts not reading the novel, but Leo did, he accepted this based on the novel, there was no script yet back in September 2020.
The novel helped him shaped his characters better but he said he always read the source material. I think it was wrong that director told others no need to read the novel.

I started to watch C drama during covid in 2020, my 1st drama AOL, 2nd Eternal Love. Lyx Runyu was completely taken me aback, bfr I sort of think C actor acting are not good enough. Wt way too much free time during covid I started to look for more info abt him and got tons hahaha I also really like Bai Qian- Yang Mi in Eternal love. She really owns her character well there. Still think until today, BQ fr EL is one of the best portrayed F characters in C drama and remains my fav. Sadly I can't say I like her other characters (no acting improvement)

It all depends on the producer and the drama team and whether or not the $ is wisely spent. Drama inv in China has long been used as political and tax money laundering, that’s why S or S+ don’t always guarantee good output.

Can't imagine anyone else (even those good actors in my mind) playing TTJ. Without LYX acting, TTEOTM will not be what it is. His acting here is by far the best by big margin.
