I like STOTD better in term of plot plus it has a bit of wuxia elements but Alon is def a much higher production quality than STOTD which is low budget and you feel it too.

Tbh I still prefer STOTD, Alon cases reminds me of STOTD plus I actually like STOTD characters better albeit production, lighting etc less beautiful than ALON which is S class, STOTD is A/B drama.
