Dont trust the MDL ratings, see fir yourself, OUTSTANDING drama!

I’ve been incredibly disappointed with Korean dramas over the past two years. The writing, the acting, and the characters have all been subpar. I’ve stopped watching American dramas because they’re just rehashing the same tired tropes. The Koreans, on the other hand, seem to be stuck in a rut, regurgitating love triangles with poor writing. This has given me a good reason to return to books, but at least the Chinese are producing better and better shows, taking over the mantle from the Koreans.

She appears to be dedicating a significant amount of time to the SML. Whether her attraction to him or her struggle for her job is the primary reason is inconsequential. If she believes that she may not secure a permanent job without catering to his desires, she must make a decision. Even if she didn’t like the ML and pursued a relationship with her boss for the position, how do you envision the outcome? If she genuinely likes her boss, she should inform him so that he can move on. I find it foolish to remain in the situation, but the writers of Korean dramas seem to have a peculiar tendency to portray attractive men as weak. This is merely my opinion!!

I agree… I don’t like the actress or the character. He is much to good for this and he can get any women he wants even with the kid. Cute kid!

Sorry, bad writing, and you run from these women, not stick around and support them. If they wake up from the nostalgia post “ Bye, Bye,” you gradually let them back in, but she has tested his trust and crapped on his feelings too many times. It’s a crappy story; just be honest. If they had given the ML a counterattack in some way, okay, I would absolutely agree with your logic.

I don’t know if I’m the only one, but C-Dramas have taken over the quality of romantic stories in the last 24 months. The Koreans play out this love triangle angle entirely too much, and if it was good writing with it, I can see how it would be tolerable. I guess they figure if we place two handsome men after a moderately cute FL, the female viewers would eat it up. I guess, but what happened to quality storytelling that got me into Korean Dramas in the first place back in 2010? Another thing, the male lead should have dumped her after the hospital episode, realizing that she is not an adult woman yet. Fixated on a former BF, you typical run, don’t walk from these types of situations as a man. This is where the writing is PISS POOR because looking like a little dog when you look as good as him is a joke. He can get anyone he wants, but they make him weak. Well, good premise, BAD EXECUTION!!

Is this being streamed anywhere, like Viki or Netflix?

So looking forward to seeing this drama. Just finished Female General and I thought it was excellent. Yea, you had to get use to the early episodes of the FL acting childish but you generally start to overlook episode by episode because everything else is so “dang” good including FL once you get through early scenes.

Shaoyaoville, my post was not really pitting women against each other. I actually like Esther and I was more so comparing Journey of Love to A Journey of Glow.. The leads on Journey of Love blew me away so i have high expectations for this production team. I’m sure Esther will be great in this role and i am so looking forward to this drama to drop.

So women find this guy attractive? Hmmm… I like his acting, especially in the series W and Romance as a Playbook. This current series seems to not fit and the FL is not a good match with him, but she is very pretty. To be honest, i started watching him by accident since he was with Han Hyo-Joo in W. I paid more attention to her character, not him but he was good or is a good actor.

If this turns out to be anything close to A Journey of Love I will be glued to the set. The music, fight scenes, romance and the two leads in general were top notch. I like Esther but she will have to step up her game to come anywhere close the mega-star Liu Shi Shi.

Like all admirers and fans say, she is a great young actress. Bright future if she continue to be selective about her parts/scripts.

Good Points but i hate this part, true or not>

I have been waiting for a while because she was in some great Romantic Dramas, like One Spring Night and especially Familiar Wife. I have watched FW at least five times and still love it to this day. I love her personality in this drama, and I hope for a similar vibe in this one.

I thought this was an okay iteration but was the RAPE necessary for the story? I don't get it, showing a loser (man) taking advantage of such a beautiful woman without her will, because she could have killed him easily if she had been in her normal state. This is bad writing by a long shot, or male propaganda saying it's okay since it happened 100s of years ago.

Agree with almost everything you said but this is not her best role. She is a great actress and this is more fun with CGI and wires that makes this a good drama along with the assemble cast. She is more one dimensional here due to the characters personality which she does well of course. Several of her previous dramas allowed her to show much greater range with her abilities. There are to many to list but even her last two prior displayed her acting talents more-so than this drama. I like the drama overall regardless of the current and future darkness in the upcoming episodes.

I agree with a lot of you on what makes Asian actors beautiful onscreen. I am American and I have long known that k-dramas, c-dramas and even Bollywood at times are much better than Hollywood. It’s just a reiteration of the same stories over and over for profit since most Americans can't manage subtitles. Dubbing, in my opinion, is a terrible choice because I like the authenticity of languages even if I don't understand. Also, the Korean language sounds beautiful on most of the top actors like Hon Hyo Jo, Song Hye Kyo, and Park Min Young, for example. I would prefer to hear their natural voice, and it’s funny that I listed 3 of the ones that speak fluent English. The Wick films are just money-grabbing films like 70% of them made today that go into the theatre. They are blaming movie downfall on streaming, but the real culprit is Hollywood greed. It’s rarely about art anymore so I don’t waste my time spending 4 times the cost to see a movie. But I am sincerely happy for Choi Soo Young because the pay is substantially more for any type of American movie or TV program. I might actually watch because she is in it even though Ana looks good doing MA.

I have noticed that dramas with many deaths seem to have low ratings, even if the program's quality is better than most happy dramas. I am biased because I love LSS's work, but aren't they following what was already written? LSS's character in this is one-dimensional and kind of short-sighted when it comes to the masked man. I get the unknown and smoothness of the mask man, but wouldn't the regular guy exhibit the same aura or feeling? I think the writers should have put more detail into what gives her a connection with the masked guy, because it makes no sense. Other than this part, I think the program is outstanding, even though I know they all will die.

Hard to compare anyone to Moon Sori at this point in her career. IU is great at everything but Sori is a professional actress. I wouldn't compare anyone to Sori. They both did a wonderful job.

If you are looking for historical, action and Romance, check out Wonderland of Love. Yes, both leads have others that like them but from the very first episode when they started flirting during their fighting scene they slowly was deeply into each other and challenged each other throughout the series. Other than a few to many filler episodes between 20-29, this drama was spot-one when creating a ML/FL combination.
