S2 is very dark! I do appreciate the ending. Glad I finally finish this super long drama
I don’t mind changing the FL if it follows the story’s logic, but I must say whatever emotional impact I felt was definitely cut in half because of this. Go Youn Jung is a good actor, but perhaps because of the amnesia plot (which is… meh), Naksu feels entirely like a different person. This doesn’t help us viewers feel familiar with this character. And after 20 episodes with Mu-deok, how can we move on?? I also don’t get why Yul wanted to kill her. And why Master Lee lied to Jin Ho-gyeong and asked her to choose… maybe so she treated Naksu well? IDK.
Finally I finish this kdrama… The first 10 episodes are the absolute best. I can’t believe how Jung So Min got prettier and prettier as the episodes go on. The story is great, but it’s just very, very long. I gotta thank Dear Hongrang for making me pick this drama back up lol
Also, the bad guy is pretty much obvious from the beginning. Why else would you cast Kim Jae Wook lolol idk which…
Ah I see, I think that’s why! I’ve watched Kim Jae Wook in Voice and that was so good, so insane, so unforgettable that for me, I had a feeling what his role was gonna be when he was casted hohoho. He was great and crazy in Death Game, too, if you wanna check that out
I really love this drama and I did finish it in one go, but I must admit it gets a bit messy toward the end. Maybe…

I really love this drama and I did finish it in one go, but I must admit it gets a bit messy toward the end. Maybe it’s fleshed out better in the novel? Anyway, I’ve been waiting for this since it was announced, because Jo Bo Ah is one of my faves and who can say no to Lee Jae Wook?
Inheritance detective is such a good subject for a drama. The cases were interesting, even though the last/main case has little to nothing to do with inheritance. The reason I personally score this on the lower end (7.5) is due to the poorly timed comedy and, well, basically the last episode. I always cringe a lil bit when watching Japanese and Korean trials, maybe because I’m unfamiliar with the system. But because I watch a lot of US trials, the difference in rules of evidence or trial proceedings seems quite large to me. Overall, this is a series I quite enjoyed at first but struggled to finish at the end.
I really like this one and actually binged the entire thing when I couldn’t even finish 1 ep of K-drama. Gotta love the fast pace of Japanese dorama! Plus the production value just keeps increasing—the cinematography of recent dorama is exponentially better. Story wise: it kept me guessing till the end and tears were shed. There were jokes for levity during heavy moments, but for me they don’t land very well. Some minor charas were also not introduced very well, so I got confused. But all in all, it’s worth the watch. And I really like the FL, Hirose Suzu! The last dorama I watched has Hirose Alice as the FL, so I guess I’m a fan of the Hirose sisters now!
Stranger is one of my favorites ever, but I’ve been trying to finish Through the Darkness to no avail even though I love Kim Nam Gil.. I’ve watched a lot of dramas in this genre so I’m running out! What are your favorites?
Not all slow burns are good, but this is pretty good! I was getting really bored of K-drama, but this pulled me in. I accidentally saw some spoilers before watching this drama (though fortunately not about who the culprit really is) so I guess I watched this through a different lens from the get go. Still, it was quite good.
Not bad, surprised I finished it since all the violence/abhorrent behavior/bad decisions were really turning me off… But I’m satisfied with the ending. It gets more interesting once you start to see how things are connected.
Finally the last episode dropped on Netflix! I really like this dorama. Why is the rating so low? There are twists and turns up till the end and learning about all the characters is fascinating. Kinda sad about the ending.. is this what people call bittersweet? I personally prefer clearly happy ending all the way. But I’m glad I decided to watch this. It was awesome. I’m hoping for a S2, if possible!!
P.S. Someone please recommend me other j-dramas with similar feel to this one!!
Don’t know about Yamapi’s version, but I quite like this dorama. The male lead is really good!! I’m not well-versed in Japanese drama, so it’s the first time I heard of Hirano Sho. I look forward to watching his other dramas. Points deducted for choppy flow; I guess they have to make a lot of things fit in 10 episodes.
I like S2, so I’m surprised to see more than a few people dislike it. I don’t mind the ending. We’ve seen it before, haven’t we? One season split into two, like Bridgerton and Alchemy of Souls. Granted, this one has a more substantial gap between parts. And yes, that’s how I feel about “Season 2”: as one season split into two. Maybe that’s why I don’t hate it as much. There’s a lot more buildup here, so I hope there will be more emotional payoff later. I love the characters, especially Hyun Joo. From the first time I saw her I knew her arc would be interesting, but I didn’t expect I’d come to like her this much. Kudos to Park Sung Hoon. He did a fantastic job delivering the nuances of this character. Can’t wait for Season 3! Or, as I like to call it, Season 2 Part 2 〇△□
P.S. Let’s just be thankful this doesn’t suck horribly like some other k-dramas with disappointing Season 2s I’d rather forget.
