i really like how it doesn't get frustrating like most crime-investigation dramas and is actually making a smart move against the villain most of the time. IT'S SO REFRESHING TO SEE THIS HAPPEN IN THIS DRAMA LOLOL XD (it somehow will remind you of the fiery priest as well i think)
those constant thrills that never seem to be slowing down at all, incredibly electrifying battle of wits plus magnificently acted performances seldom come packed in one show these days but Doctor Prisoner definitely has it all together. IM DYING FOR THE NEXT EPISODES IS WHAT IM BASICALLY SAYING<3
He is so underratedly good at every roles he does, and I'm beyond ecstatic that he's started to get recognition for his acting, especially after he starred on both Along With The Gods franchise & The Guest. Rooting for him as always!
kim dong-wook, ryu deok-hwan and kim kyung-nam in one show will be pretty much an absolute blast to see and the first 2 episodes did good at setting up the whole story. i'm looking forward to tonight's episodes!

I truly hope he would get more acting opportunities, really. I wasn't particularly impressed with his acting before, but 100 Days My Prince made me see a different light on him, and I ended up watching all of his past projects just to found out how diverse it were character-wise, even when some of them are dark roles (that actually suited him as much lol). His micro-expression was something that I'd never get bored to see<3 It's weirdly fascinating at how subtle yet expressive he is (especially his eyes) when it comes to acting.
Definitely one of the actors whose future I'd excitedly looking forward to!
100 Days My Prince did feel like more of a character-driven drama, rather than a plot-focused one. It HAD a lot of potential to be an good historical drama, but I guess the choice to make this a rom-com instead makes the whole vibe of the drama turned bubbly and the plot kept going circles since we basically have no plot to drive in.
But every character was so darn lovable (except the villains ofc) that I couldn't help but overlooking those weaknesses. D.O's acting was SUPERB, and he's definitely one of the 'crown prince' that I'd actually grew fond of. His acting was a perfect amount mix of seriousness & hilarity, and that alone makes the whole show worth to give it a try. Kim Seon-ho was great as well, and I liked that he played a second-lead that is in no way annoying just like other dramas who couldn't seem to give up when the result is plain obvious. I liked how him & the crown prince became best friends later as well xD
I wish the drama told us more about their lives after everything happened though. It's not enough for me t.t Overall it's a 6/10 for this!
Loved it. They told the background of the guardians, and I certainly didn't expect the final plot twists AT ALL. And ofc, all the casts are def BRILLIANT<3 Gotta check out Ha Jung-woo's stuffs later for sure!
The drama as a whole was really slow, indeed. But am I the only who's surprisingly not really minding it much?Even though it's a historical drama, it feels different as the cinematography is literally on the other level (which is expected since the high budget and such) and the dialogues between the characters were always cleverly entertaining & often have layers behind the meaning of it. For a drama to be this poignant and meaningful with how they handled the characters is really one of the thing that I loved from this drama. And ofc, the acting were FANTASTIC. Probably the most well-acted dramas coming from Kim Eun-sook writer-nim for me.
The bromance was GOLD, honestly. I wish they'd keep it as long as they could despite them being love rivals of Ae-shin T.T
Kento's portrayal of Minato was super adorable and definitely more 'humane' than Joo-won's. Park Shi-on still remains as my favorite out of these 3 versions, but I could see that Kento does bring lovely change to the character, and I'm really liking it so far:D
Plus the fact that people around Minato was less 'harsh' to Minato himself compared to what happened on the Korean version, making this show a lil bit more easier to follow:)
I really like the way she wrote the dialogues which are most of the time witty and hilarious. The interesting banter between her character was definitely the highlight of her script, and I LOVE THAT. She's constantly getting better with each script, and I'm looking forward to her next drama, Mr. Sunshine, that'd be airing this july!
I liked it so far!Furukawa Yuki's character reminds me a lot with his potrayal of Irie Naoki and I can't help but love the show more bcs of it. The overall story seemed pretty interesting, and I can't wait for more episodes to come out!I might be putting this onhold first bcs I really hate how slow the subs for j-dramas comes out compared to k-dramas T.T

Netflix is the one that subs the drama, and they usually release the subs a week after the airing date. It is also the same case with Prison Playbook during its airing, and also Live which gets subbed at the same day as this drama.
Joy's scenes didn't even come out much on the first episode so what's exactly there to complain about?I get that people can dislike or maybe find this drama bad/awful, BUT IT WAS ONLY ONE FREAKIN' EPISODE AND SOME PEOPLE ALREADY GOING MAD OVER IT. I myself am not instantly addicted to this, but the first ep was not THAT bad, imho. Chill out. This is just a drama.
This was so fun & super hilarious to watch omfg. I knew that I'd enjoy this as soon as I saw that it was a SJ's show because the members' relationship are just so good & it's just plain fun to see them on this all together discussing their latest album (which is proved to be a high-quality album imho). I wish they'd extend it longer and it seems like there's another plan to make a show like this in the future. Can't waitt!><
I don't know with the others, but I think the reason why I enjoyed this more than I'd expected are all of those so-called 'crappy' effects & directing style. It reminds me of the old messy (but still entertaining) romcoms in 2010s, honestly. And adding the fact that Hong Sisters are the ones that write this show, it just makes everything much more fun & quirky to watch!
Hong Sisters's works has always been a hit-or-miss for most of people, but this drama certainly brings back their old style of writing, and I'm just happy & grateful for it. I'm still wary though about the amount of episodes, but I realize it's useless for me to worry over things that haven't happened, when I'm enjoying this drama a lot right now. I know that
Hwayugi itself isn't a perfect drama in terms of both writing & directing, but constantly giving criticism to a show that you yourself knows wasn't into your liking is pretty weird as well, imho. Just drop the freakin' drama instead of making yourself miserable by watching dramas that you don't enjoy :) I know that some of y'all meant well with the criticism, but after seeing so many 'awful' comments on this show, it gradually makes me think, "was the drama THAT bad?", when I want to love the drama as much as I'm enjoying it rn:(
