Favorite episodes: 4 & 6. Also love that the drama finally went outside of its own box and let her go to a foreign country this season. although it was only a few episodes, seeing our solokatsu goddess doing her things in a different land was enjoyable! I’d love to see her traveling to somewhere outside asia someday, maybe a SP or a movie.

Now onto season 5 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

Title Himitsu: The Top Secret Spoiler
this drama is up there with my all time faves too, i really didn’t expect to love it this much. i’m so glad…
i love Meguru, one of my fave characters by him. but after having watched most of his works i've come to enjoy his dark, vulnerable and complex roles more than anything. he just does it so well, it's painful to watch and so satisfying at the same time xD sometimes i wonder if it's too much for him to take on these difficult roles but it seems that he also enjoys doing them more than the brighter ones (i read his interviews too hehe).
i rmb he often said that coming home was like a switch for him to snap out of his character. so for Maki to leave such a frustration on him like that, Himitsu was indeed a big step for him. i heard that Maki's mental breakdown/crying scene in Ep11 had to be retaken multiple times, that's why his eyes were swollen and his face was so messy in that scene (still so pretty as hell tho adsfdjsdsk) T-T i'm so happy that he brought Maki to life successfully, it's so worth the efforts. also so grateful that Yuto was around to lift him up during the filming process. right now Rhito!Maki feels like a gift from god. wish i could send him million hugs and tell him that he did such an excellent job portraying Maki.

For those wondering about the ongoing manga Himitsu Season 0 - no it's not subbed, and even though it's described…
luckily season 0 has just gotten licensed in my country recently and is being published right now. i just started reading it yesterday and it’s still so goood that i was trembling with excitement T-T really hope they’ll give the drama another season based on the material from season 0. please dorama gods, i need to see it. we need to make it happen when this perfect cast and crew are still around and in the prime 🙏✨

oh Colorful Love was sunshine, rainbows, unicorns and my eternal source of serotonin. Himitsu on the other hand, is midnight, abyss, dark horses and dopamine booster. the contrast of that duality tho, and yet he embodied the characters every time like they were destined to be him 🤌
can’t wait for his future projects. so far his characters have always been so different from each other that every time he announced a new acting role i felt like a whole new son just emerged and joined my family lol.

this drama is up there with my all time faves too, i really didn’t expect to love it this much. i’m so glad THIS is one of the first dramas where Rihito got to be one of the leading roles 😭😭😭 i know technically it’s a W-leaded drama like Colorful Love but we’ve come so far 😭

Maki wasn't injured on his face, so why a bandage in the hospital?
at around 17:18 takimoto hit maki on the face, it seemed rough so i guess it was supposed to be swollen or something.

This was such a great watch! Am I the only one who felt like the finale was only 15 minutes long? I need more!…
i’m screaming at your comment omg 😂 he’s really THAT good as an villain and you put it into words perfectly. i’ve always respected him for his subtle acting and looooved how he delivers his lines. but to see him in an evil role like this was such an eye opener, it was on a whole different level. indeed a tad too much skill lol.

i read in an interview that he said he saw the connection between kainuma and maki as an attraction of 2 brains alike rather than an attraction between 2 men, and i think it explains a lot about kainuma’s obsession with maki. it was so vile, manipulative and evil, not sexually but psychologically. and the fact that this obsession had always been there since he first met the 17-year-old maki just added so many disgusting levels to his character. it’s true that the drama made the kainuma case less gruesome than the manga, but the changes they made to that character really heightened the level of his madness and creepiness.

The last 15 minutes of the episode he's like a golden retriever who made a wish to become human. I couldn't with…
right it was like his owner was going away and we could see his floppy ears, teary eyes, waggy tail and his whimpering voice asking his owner to stay omg sksjshdjks idk how maki could resist that, i would pet the hell out of that golden retriever lol

I'M SHAKING BECAUSE HOW GOOD THIS DORAMA IS ARGHHHH. I started crying in Takimoto and Maki scene 😭😭😭😭
oh that scene was indeed so well executed and acted. the psychological suspense elements of the entire drama really peaked right there.

when yukiko said "when you asked me to go out with you, part of me accepted to spite him" to aoki, she was also telling aoki that maki liked him too but golden retriever aoki was too dense to catch that other meaning of what she was saying lmao it just jumped right over his head i can't asjksdjajfshk

I'm glad they brought in Kainuma back because he was such an effective villain, more so than in the manga. But…
yea it seemed that they removed the technical fault in the gun from the manga and replaced with psychological manipulation by kainuma’s hypnosis, which made suzuki’s death entirely maki’s fault. i guess the screenwriter found the part where takimoto came back to replace the faulted gun with a normal gun afterwards a bit impossible since takimoto was already taken away after the shock of seeing kainuma’s MRI. that would be a plot hole.
i don’t mind the change though, it made maki suffer even more because of his mistake and made kainuma more of a psychotic mastermind than just an obsessed serial killer like the manga, it made sense that he was the one who created the MRI technology (for maki) lol
as for takimoto, i think they did a good job making his case into a domestic religion issue instead of an international issue like the manga, that would be too complicated and sensitive for a tv drama nowadays. and the way they made him more human was also very on brand for the drama, there have always been a gray area in every case the drama chose to adapt, it blurred the lines of moral and made the audience question what’s really right or wrong. well… except for the kainuma case i guess lol.

i love your comment and agree that you should write a review for this drama here (everyone with decent english should all write a review tbh it’s so under appreciated). hope to see more of your comments after the engsub is out :)

Title Himitsu: The Top Secret Spoiler
Can you spoil me what happened to Aoki and maki and the like you thing?? I need spoilers ,, can't wait for the…
it’s almost exactly the same as the manga like i told you before. maki asked aoki to shoot his heart but aoki ran to hug maki and said, in short, “i like you, maki-san. please forgive yourself and stop blaming yourself for what happened. everyone at the ninth and yukiko like you and care about you too. suzuki too, he had always always cherished you.” things like that, it calmed maki down and stopped maki from wanting to kill himself. the case was later solved but what maki did was too severe, he couldn’t go back to the ninth anymore. he would still be working on MRI but transfered to another country instead. before he went he said to aoki that he (maki) and suzuki should be the last ones of the ninth who bear the “not allowed to get married” rule and he wished that aoki would get married and take care of mai-chan (his sister’s daughter) like his own child. the drama ended with aoki taking maki to the airport, aoki was too emotional to say anything but maki just smiled and said something to aoki before he disappeared from aoki’s sight. rest assured that what maki said was not goodbye but please watch the episode with engsub to find out what maki actually said, that’s all i can tell you. i’m too emotional rn my vocabulary is not working properly to phrase this right, the final episode was really good in my opinion. make sure to watch it.

watching with jpn captions rn and had to come here for a bit. i called it!!! they really brought kainuma back…
^ that’s ep11 spoiler tho you don’t have to read it, i was just bragging 😂 anyway still haven’t done watching yet but i love the changes so far, the core of story is still faithful to the manga but they tied it so well to the earlier cases and gave more sense to the villain’s motives. beautifully directed and acted too, it’s just… so good (i’m running out of vocabulary T-T)

Eeeerrrmm, why have the ratings dropped? It went from 8.2 to 8,the heck?!😒Anyhooo, eagerly waiting for the last…
Jdramas are usually underrated on these sites. only 50 users have submitted their ratings for Himitsu so far and it might drop even more when everyone finishes watching, that’s just how it usually goes (i hope i’m wrong with this case though).
